Traffic refers to your visitors who are directed to your beautifully created website which offers your wonderful products and services from your Home Business.  Traffic is the lifeline in Internet Marketing and it solely determines the fate of your Online Business. You therefore need new qualified visitors arriving at your website each and every day, ready and willing to buy these products or services.

Not All Traffic is Good

In order to be both successful and profitable in your Online Business, you really need to find a target market of a very hungry crowd to buy from you. Your primary task therefore is to direct them to your products you are promoting using the best available marketing strategies or learned techniques.

Unfortunately not all traffic is created equal. Some paid search engine traffic e.g. Google Adwords can generate very good traffic. However directing such traffic can be expensive and you might suffer some losses if you are not careful.

Traffic Exchanges really work well and can be used to generate traffic to your site. Essentially you view others’ sites to generate credits to have your site viewed by others or you can purchase views from the exchanges. In some exchanges, you may also promote product banners, which can be very effective as a branding feature for your business.

There are also many forms of free traffic generation that you can use for your home based business e.g. Articles Submission, Blogging, Lens writing or Forum participation. The amount of traffic that may be generated here can be quite substantial. For articles submission, just remember to include a compelling bio box with a link back to your website. You will then be presented with a combination of both fast and slow strategies some of which may not work for you. But that’s just the first step.

Finding The Best Traffic Strategy

Go for those that really work for you. You ought to follow every possible traffic generation techniques you can lay your hands on - ebooks, training programs, articles, viral marketing, exit explosion, your mentor or people in forum groups you joined. Then try them out and review the results to see which ones work best for you and which don’t. One good rule to follow is never buy traffic unless it performs.

This process to determine which ones work best for you and which don’t is extremely time consuming and can be quite frustrating too. It is here that many people lose confidence in their Online Business when they are confronted with such setbacks and poor sales. But there are those who persevered and succeeded proving that internet marketing is still a viable business if you are determined to seriously work from home.

Internet Marketing is but a science, and having just a pretty website running is useless if you do nothing. You need to promote it aggressively and always learning new techniques and have a marketing plan for your [tag]work from home[/tag] business.
