April month seems to pass quicker than other months and here I’m bringing you this Top Commentator Award for April 2009 post. Without further ado here it is.
I have to say I’m pretty excited to announce my top commentator and April seems almost as good as last month ‘s fantastic number of comments received. 114 comments were received just from my 3 top commentators out of a total of 236 comments from my top 10 commentators.
For those of you who may be new to my work at home blog, as a small gesture of my appreciation, the Top Commentator for each month will be recognized and rewarded with a free one-month 125×125 ad banner on this blog. April month seems a little different though. I managed to get 2 sponsors from my 2 buddies Ben and Luis to contribute some prizes too.
April’s Sponsors
1. Work At Home Blog (Me) offers a free 125X125 Banner and text link ad (both 1 mth)
2. Ben Pei from PeiProfit.com offers a free banner design, any size.
3. Luis Torres from MarketingBusinessReview.com offers a free 125X125 Banner (1 mth).
You Can Be A Sponsor Here
To give a little more excitement to this Top Commentator Award, I’m now seeking out sponsors for May month’s TC Award. You can sponsor banner ads, text link ads, ebooks, blog reviews just to name a few. This will not only give our readers more reasons to give comments on this blog but give sponsors good exposure to your blog. You’ll also get backlinks with your chosen anchor text. Your links will be on this post as well as on the post announcing the Top Commentator Award. I hope more of my friends or readers would be a sponsor here. Just leave a comment if you are interested to be one. I will be really grateful!
May’s Sponsors:
1. Work At Home Blog (Me) offers a free 125X125 Banner and text link ad (both 1 mth)
2. Make Money Online Lee Kahoong offers a free 125X125 Banner (1 mth)
3. DirectSalesWebMarketing Dennis Edell offers $10 via paypal
This Top Commentator for the month of April goes to …(drumroll) Almir Bojkovic of SpreadingYourKnowledge. Well with 48 comments, Almir has made his presence feft on this blog and I’ve also seen him as Top Commentator in many other blogs I’ve visited during the last month too. So he is not a flash in the pan – he is here to stay. Congratulations Almir.
The following will receive the sponsors’ awards:
Nicolas Prudhon (35) – a free banner design, any size from Ben Pei
Medical Billing Trainer (31) – a free 125X125 Banner (1 mth) from Luis Torres
Marketing Business Review (29) – a free one-month text link from yours truly (Me)
You will be informed by the sponsors very soon to claim your award.
Now what do the rest of the Commentators get as a reward? You’ll get link love from yours truly of course as a gesture of my appreciation to you for supporting and contributing your comments on this home business blog.
Almir as my top commentator for April, please provide me your banner details for me to upload it here. You earned it buddy! Luis, send me yours too.

Congrats to all the top commentator and who win the prizes! Between peter, I've left about 2-3 comments in your blog but I don't see them appeared, do you mind to check for me? I would like to sponsor a 125×125 banner ads in my blog for a month, let me know if you still accept okay?
Regards,
Lee
May 2, 2009 at 12:26 pm
@ Make Money Online: Hi Lee, sure and thanks for being my first sponsor. Sorry you comments somehow went to my spam folder and I missed them. I have now approved them.
May 2, 2009 at 3:52 pm
Wow…. making 48 comments in one month takes some effort and especially if you are to provide value with every comment. How many posts did you actually write Peter?
May 2, 2009 at 4:15 pm
Man, 48 comments in one month is a lot. how many comments did you do per blog post?
May 2, 2009 at 5:58 pm
Hi Peter,
Congratulations to Almir. I will contact Medical Billing Trainer to ask him for his banner to sponsor him.
I will send you my link info. Thanks.
Btw, Peter, I have not post the Top Commentator Award on my blog yet cuz I had some problems with a breach in my site. Someone hack me and changed the Title of the blog with an offensive line something like “You are Fuc*** by …” and 2 names I dont remember.
I finally put my new theme live, still need some tweaks but at least it is live. Now I need to find someone to help me to close the breach this stupids left on my blog.
Did you know some hacker or someone that can check my site and help me, lol?
Luis

Peter if you see Medical Billing, please send him over my site to contact me about the 125 ad.

I forgot Peter, You won again the Top Commentator Award, just send me your new code or tell me if I leave the one you already have.
Luis
May 2, 2009 at 9:37 pm
@ Marketing Business Review : I won again? Must be something about your blog that I keep going back…keep the same ad and if I want it changed I'll let you know.
May 2, 2009 at 9:54 pm
@ Mikael @ Retire Rich: I wrote 8 posts in April out of 154 posts on this blog. I wish I could write more but time seems not on my favor.
May 2, 2009 at 9:58 pm
@ Marketing Business Review: Oh sorry to hear that Luis. It seems that bad things happen to good people too huh. Coincidentally this week I had to recover my blog. I tried to upgrade to WP2.7.1 but it was not successful, the blog won't reload completely. Anyway I'm happy with WP2.6. No I don't have anyone in mind. Hey why don't you recover the blog to just before it happened. That's what I did rather than figure out how to fix whatever problem you have. Just my 2-cents.
May 3, 2009 at 1:23 am
Hi
Do you find that offering prizes like this increases the number of spam/worthless comments? I'm interested because it is something that I might consider doing on my blogs.
Many thanks
Neil
May 3, 2009 at 1:40 am
@Neil: No not at all. But I'm not sure if it has something to do with having Disqus. Since I installed it a few weeks ago. my spam comments have decreased significantly. Thanks for the visit.
May 3, 2009 at 7:34 am
Hi Peter and Luis,
I've got WP 2.7.1 on a localhost, as I am testing it. To be fair, it is a bit buggy when loading, so I am sticking with 2.6 as well.
May 3, 2009 at 7:36 am
I was wondering that as well, cause I am offering some great prizes on my blog too. But people are willing to comment better content, because of the great prizes.
May 3, 2009 at 7:37 am
I did 72 in a previous month, that taken loads of effort. So I am aware of the commenting you need, however, guest posting is a great way to become the highest commentator.
May 3, 2009 at 9:07 am
Congrats to all the winners this month. Will stick around to see if I can get myself into there. That banner design is a pretty tempting prize.
May 3, 2009 at 9:41 am
Thanks Peter for retrieve my comments in your spam folder and sorry for the inconvenient. Between, I think you still missed out 2-3 comments, do you mind to get them out of the black hole too?
Regards,
Lee
May 3, 2009 at 10:28 am
@ Make Money Online: Hi Lee I just checked the spam folder and found just one and I approved it (Mar Blog Income) but it's 3 weeks old. There were 2-3 others I approved in the spam folder a while ago but I think those were Apr comments so you won't see in the May stats. Thank for telling me but you may want to check why yours went to spam. Do your comments on other blogs go to spam too.
May 3, 2009 at 10:31 am
@ atmmultimedia: Yep James, yours was a record on this blog and still stands. Maybe it's an added incentive to guest post on this blog LOL. BTW I'm still waiting for your banner ad details. Please give soon.
May 3, 2009 at 10:32 am
@ atmmultimedia: I think to upgrade is a little risky. You don't know what's gonna happen. But for new blogs, its good to use WP2.7.
May 3, 2009 at 10:33 am
@ Jewelry Making Supplies: Actually the key is to be consistent. Just visit this blog everyday and post at least one or two each time. That ought to do it. Hope to see ya.
May 4, 2009 at 12:44 am
Hi James,
I have 2.5.3, I do not dare to upgrade too. Btw, Did you know anyone that can check a site to find a breach. Someone hacked me and seems the comments are not working with my new theme. And also my site seems not working as usual after the hack.
If you can help me or tell me who can, I will really appreciate it.
Luis
May 4, 2009 at 3:27 am
Congratulation to the winner.
May 4, 2009 at 4:34 am
Congrats to all the top commentators
May 4, 2009 at 8:34 am
I wouldn't want to seem intrusive just posting to post, I want to leave the impression that I'm trying to improve the community. This has turned into a meta-post, but that's what I feel.
A bit unsure of what to do about that paypal prize though. Here in the Philippines paypal doesn't exactly like when you make withdraws from your account if you hold a US card.
May 4, 2009 at 1:19 pm
Thanks, Peter, for holding this contest. This is the first time I've been one of the top commentators as I've only been actively commenting for the last month. Congrats to the winner and for everyone else that made the top 10 list. Also, thanks to all prize contributors as we wouldn't have this contest without them.
May 4, 2009 at 8:35 pm
Peter, have you changed the number of top commentators on your blog ? I can see top 5 commentators instead of 10 ? Will it remain same for this month ? Don't do it please, it makes the competition difficult
May 5, 2009 at 9:38 am
It's such a time-consuming process, isn't it? It's good to see that on your blog you have quality commentors and not the usual “nice site, webmaster” spam you see all over the place. Congrats to the top commentors!
May 5, 2009 at 10:12 am
Hey Peter, thanks for retrieving my comments. Between, I'm fine to leave comment in some blogs. Perhaps I've left excessive comments in a day or week. Between, is there any limit to leave comment in a day or week? Normally I left about 3-5 comments in a day, is that too much?
Regards,
Lee
May 5, 2009 at 10:28 am
@ Jewelry Making Supplies: Oh I didn't know about that paypal rule when you hold a US card. What do you mean “doesn't exactly like”? Are you still able to withdraw and send to your your bank account but with some restrictions?
May 5, 2009 at 10:31 am
@ Work From Home Opportunities: Alan, you have been a great top commenter not just here but on so many other blogs I've been too.You also won a prize at Dennis' blog and you miss a prize by a whisker here. I'm glad to have you on my blog giving your thoughts and sharing the conversation.
May 5, 2009 at 10:34 am
@ acne home remedies:I've always put max of 5 on my TC and only on the last day of the month I change it to 10. This is because on the last day I usually snap an image as proof of the 10 commentators so that there is no dispute. I also do it for cosmetic reason. 10 makes it too long on my sidebar.
May 5, 2009 at 10:36 am
@ Home-Work-Newbie: Yes I'm fortunate that my friends who have been here from day1 has been contributing good quality comments. I really appreciate that. But there were still times when I do get those lame 2-word comments. For these I deleted them.
May 5, 2009 at 10:49 am
@ Make Money Online: I'm not sure your definition of 'excessive' but if you're talking about 1000s yes that's excessive and Google may not be too happy. Perhaps you should not focus on just a small group of blogs. I think it's better to have 1000 links from 20 blogs than 1000 links from 5 blogs. This is just an example but you get the idea.
May 5, 2009 at 12:16 pm
With how paypal works they require home phone identification if they notice anything “wrong” with your account. Ended up with them freezing the usage of the card since they decided it was possible that I could just as easily be a fraudulent holder that swiped the card.
Trying to resolve it by e-mail had them explain that they can't assure the Philippine's reliability and unable to give support to here. Ended up wit them being impossible to work with and had to have money sent through western union for a few months, and couldn't pay for anything online.
May 5, 2009 at 4:35 pm
That a cool idea to get comments and traffic your site ranks well
I need todo something with my us home business blog
I had this site for years with a litle work I can make it to page 1 for internet home business and home business I am #1 for US home business but that does not bring much traffic
I have forgoten about it for the last few months. Did a little cleaning and improved the ranking
Any ideas on what I can do with this site?
How can I make money with it?
only thing thats worked for me is review sites.
May 5, 2009 at 5:11 pm
I have you to thank for that. I wouldn't have known about the other blogs otherwise. Hey, without your excellent blog I wouldn't have any thoughts to share. You run a great blog, and you always provide great value to your readers. That's what keeps us coming back.
May 5, 2009 at 6:23 pm
Congratulations to all the top commentator and who win the prizes! I have been thinking in doing something similar to this, give out prizes to my top commentors, anyway we'll see!
May 5, 2009 at 8:51 pm
@Peter,

I was leaving 3-5 comments in a day to several blogs, I mean in total I just left 3-5 comments in a day not 3-5comments for each blog, I think this is consider reasonable right?
I've current bookmarked about 5-10 blogs and left comment if there is new post in their blogs, perhaps I have to get more blogs in my list. I get your idea , thank you very much Peter!
Regards,
Lee
May 6, 2009 at 11:24 am
@ Make Money Online: Lee that seems perfectly fine. I think for most of us, we probably don't have the time to do too much blog commenting, since there is just so much to do.
May 6, 2009 at 12:37 pm
Peter, you're right! Recently I'm busying for other projects, so I'm slow in doing blog commenting. But, of course I still left comments if I felt that I had something to speak out.
You know, I'm a busy body. haha!
Regards,
Lee

I love the great information contained on this blog. I will refer to it often. Great Work
May 8, 2009 at 10:00 am
In the past few days something is wrongwith my blog comments alert. It shows on my home page that I have blog comments, but when i click on it it says my blog comments are empty/no comments. I then try to search for comments after each blog entry, but they all show 0 comments. What is the problem, seemed to work just fine……………..
May 9, 2009 at 10:04 am
Ha ha ha! I didn't even realized that I was one of your top commentator for that month Peter!
Maybe that's something I should pay more attention to.
Well anyway, congratulation to all the winner, and thank you to all the sponsors!
May 9, 2009 at 10:13 am
thanks for congratulating me on my victory that was nice of you. Sorry to hear what happened to you Marketing Business Review its just weird how these people have the mentality they do to hack someone else's blog and totally destroy a blog. Your really lucky that they didn't delete your posts and what not.
May 25, 2009 at 9:43 pm
I won something, WOW! The last thing I won was a teddy bear for my girl at Coney Island seven years ago. The funny this is I don't have a 125X125 banner and I don't know how to make one so thanks to Luis for the offer, thank you Peter for this very informative blog and congrats to all the commentators because this is what makes our community thrive.
