A month ago, I would never have dreamed of associating “Keyword Research” with the word “Fun”. It would be unthinkable! But let’s just say Micro Niche Finder and launching of my first Micro Niche Website helped put things into perspective.
I digress:
It’s really funny how in my IM journey how I discovered things that sometimes changed completely…my thinking, my understanding, my perception, my mindset….my hopes
Does This Blog Really Need Micro Niche Finder?
The short answer is NO, not specifically, but as an internet business owner, it helps me look for new profitable niche markets. This blog is a communication tool I used to share with all my readers and visitors what I’ve learned in my IM journey. I was happy using all the free keyword research tools such as Google Adwords Keyword Tool and this free tool has served my needs in all my work on this home business blog. It’s only when my IM journey took a slight detour to the adsense route that I found these tools could no longer serve some of my needs or new ideas I have. Yeah like Micro Niche Website. I’m sure you may have encountered such experiences in your business as well and either wished you could do your keyword research faster OR have a better tool.
So What Can Micro Niche Finder do?
Just type in your keyword into MNF and you have loads of relevant keywords displayed in mere seconds including:
Keywords/long tail keywords: The main keyword is on the left side.
Search Count: This is the search volume as taken from the Google Keyword Tool
(exact phrase).
Exact Phrase Count: This is the number of competing websites.
Ad Cost: This is the approximate Ad Cost that company’s are bidding on this
word.
SOC: This is the “strength of competition”, along with a rating number and green
color light.
My favorite features:
1. The strength of competition (SOC) for each keyword phrase/long tail keyword is displayed with a rating number (see below). The higher this number the stronger your competition. A green “tick” means less of a fight to get top search engine ranking and a red “cross” tells you to forget it unless you know what you are doing
) You can see further breakdown into inanchor count, intitlecount and inurl count by just clicking a link.
2. When you are doing keyword research for a particular niche that you are interested, Micro Niche Finder has an excellent feature that allows you to either “broad dig” or “narrow dig” this keyword along with a host of other options. I have not seen any free tool that allows such flexibility with just one click.

Why Do I Need Micro Niche Finder
- Many people who do not know keyword research enough will choose a keyword which has a low number of competing websites. This is really not necessarily accurate because there could be many niche keywords that have a high number of websites competing but with very low strength of competition. You could easily outrank many sites if you had such information – information that only a good software can give you. You don’t necessarily need MNF but something close to what it can offer should do.
- Calculating the numbers of ‘inanchor/intitle/inurl’ counts is really hard work for someone looking to build many niche websites. It would be a worthy investment to simply purchase this software and save yourself some misery.
- I made a mistake once when I chose a wrong niche – all because I wasn’t equipped with a good keyword tool. The niche is a real estate niche, a highly competitive one and I intended to choose a keyword phrase which is not too competitive. The result was disastrous. Here take a look at what MNF now tells me about this keyword:

Well I won’t make such mistakes again with my Micro Niche Finder. To sum up what I think about this tool is this. Before I purchased MNF, whenever I bought a new domain specifically for a niche that I wanted to go into, I go like “well well I hope this is a good niche for me”. Now with my MNF (and I just found my second micro niche website), I exclaimed “haha , I got a good one!”

Interesting tool. As an internet marketer myself, I am always looking for the best long-tail keywords for my clients PPC AdWords campaigns . I will have to try this out.
September 26, 2009 at 7:51 pm
@ raleighpayperclick: Thanks for dropping by. Besides an excellent tool for niche marketing, MNF works like other tools though much faster and powerful. Finding long tail keywords is really the basic this tool gives and ideal with what you just described for work done for your clients.

Sir, its my new experience on Microniche, well I use wordtracker and google adword for finding my best keyword.
September 26, 2009 at 10:39 pm
@moonheart009: Yes wordtracker and Google Adwords are very good tools and the best part of it is that it's free. Like I said you don't need MNF unless your needs require them. But for me I rely on this tool heavily for finding my hidden niches.
September 26, 2009 at 11:08 pm
Thank you. Sir why your blog home page showing PR1, I am just checking mine and your blog report on http://www.websitegrader.com/?site=.
September 27, 2009 at 12:40 am
@ moonheart009: Yes I used to have PR3 for this blog and PR4 for my homepage, but lost them. Google penalised my blog because I had Text Link Ads and I have since removed TLA and the script on this blog. As for my homepage, it went down to PR2 but after an accidental removing of my index file by someone I had some work outsourced to, my homepage rank was somehow changed to PR0 and never got back. I am just hoping I'll get them back. But if I don't I am OK because PR is not that important as it only affects 20 percent of your search engine ranking. I won't lose sleep over it. I'll just continue to do link building as that's more important to rank higher in Google.

Peter, I bought Micro Niche Finder very early on in my online adventures when I really had no clue yet as to how useful it could be. Therefore it ended up with the big heap of downloaded programs that never got put to use. I am so glad I read your post about it now, it made me remember that I've actually got it and I will start using it now!
September 28, 2009 at 10:54 pm
UP and Down are to side of a coin. If you will work hard you will get back your previous ranking back or more than that. Best of luck

Comparing MNF with Keyword Elite, I would say by all means, go for MNF. Keyword Elite has many features but unless you have lot and lot of time and patience in using each of those features, it won't do you any good and will give up very soon on using it.

We are looking forward to you for another interesting update. I hope you will make it very soon.
October 1, 2009 at 4:03 am
I am waiting for the result of last months Top Commentators. When will you post about that.
October 1, 2009 at 6:47 am
I have used Micro Niche Finder over the past few days to pick my next niche, and I have to say I love it! I certainly haven't gotten to use all its features yet, but it makes keyword research a lot easier, and a lot more fun! I have actually found a niche with lots of searches, and the SOC is “0″ on quite a few keywords, which is fantastic (I wonder whether that can be though – it seems eerie!).

@ Alan Mater: Hey Alan is that really you or someone with the same name as you – Alan Mater or a malfunction of this plugin? If you are truly a different person, well welcome to my humble blog and hope to see you again soon.

@ internet marketing reviews: I am truly encouraged by such words Thank You! I have the Top Commentator post scheduled tomorrow followed by a guest post on SEO on Oct 7th by my regular SEO Strategist and good friend Nicolas Prudhon. So stay tuned….

@ petraweiss: Glad you found out for yourself what Micro Niche Finder can do. It's just so simple to use. I just hope James doesn't raise the price again too soon. You could check the page one sites just to get to see who are the competition like and also check if there are enough advertisers for the keyword.
October 1, 2009 at 8:57 am
@ internet marketing reviews: Well page rank does not matter that much as it affects ony 20% of your search engine ranking. If I get it back I'll be happy, if not, it's business as usual and I won't lose sleep over it. But thanks for your nice words.
October 1, 2009 at 11:25 pm
Well… these kinda tools are equally important and means something while discovering and targeting to the internet marketing.. I used to use these tools for the promotional purposes to ride over on the efforts made.

I've actually heard a lot about this amazing tool. It has great feautures and can give you great profitable keywords. I've just used the trial of Market Samurai and was very impressed with that keyword as well. But it looks like Micro Niche Finder gives more long tail keywords.
So i'll be buying this amazing piece of software soon.
Nice post

@ Gary: I've heard of Market Samurai but have never used it. Thanks for giving the thumbs up for Micro Niche Finder. I rely on it too much and it's spot on in finding profitable niches for me. Now both my mini niche websites are on Google page 1.

October 4, 2009 at 7:32 am
I haven't been here before. I liked your articles very much and appreciate your effort of helping people know about the latest happenings in the world of Internet Marketing.
October 4, 2009 at 7:54 pm
MNF is brilliant it allows one to find keywords that are ripe for the picking and avoids one targeting a keyword that would be a waste of time..Strong thumbs up in my book…Thanks for the excellent information.
October 4, 2009 at 10:41 pm
Seems that Micro Niche Finder is really a good keyword research tool, I plan to share with my brother and purchase one copy of that shortly.
October 5, 2009 at 1:05 am
Great stuff man. I really like this yo!
That's a great tool dude.
October 5, 2009 at 7:11 am
So MNF win over MS ? is this the general opinion in this community ?
October 5, 2009 at 6:41 pm
@florist Singapore: There isn't a best keyword research tool. I like it because it provides me everything I need for my micro niche adsense websites and because I'm a noob at keyword research I go for something simple but effective.
October 7, 2009 at 6:43 am
That's really make fun over keyword research as i was using seobook earlier!
October 15, 2009 at 9:42 am
yes it really is fun now
October 17, 2009 at 12:14 am
With all major high earning keywords having got too much competitive to rank for, finding a Micro Niche seems to be the name of the winning game at these tough times. Though similar to you I too use Google Adwords Keywords Tool for all my keyword research but after reading your post it seems that Micro Niche Finder has make keyword research to be real fun and easy. Thanks for adding a potent weapon in my arsenal.
November 3, 2009 at 1:06 pm
I use MNF and love it, but nothing replaces eyeballing the search results on page 1 in google. A couple times I had a 'green light' but backed off when I saw the actual sites I would compete against. Don't forget good old fashoined human judgement.
December 12, 2009 at 5:58 am
There are several issues here. First, no tool is more reliable than the data it is “fed,” and neither Google nor Yahoo provide their search data to third parties. WordTracker uses data from a pool of smaller search engine sites, and often shows high traffic levels for very bizarre search phrases.
January 4, 2010 at 5:18 am
Another crucial factor to consider is the activity of “fraud operators,” who use keyword research tools to identify high-bid keywords; when bid amounts rise, those terms attract more fraudulent activity (because fraudsters can make more money from each click than for low-bid terms), increasing volume.

Ever heard of Site Build It! ? Well, they, SBI, did stuff like this years and years ago…and they compared the saturation of an idea in a kind of “supply vs demand” way. I have to say, that had I had my single niche concept when I did SBI back then, I would have stayed with 1 concept and SBI as they have the best all-in-one solutions.
Unfortunately I have more than 1 idea and that is actually a weakness for those who are not able to focus on just 1 thing at a time, me included. If you want this and tons of other tools etc…and you have only 1 good niche, I recommend SBI.
June 27, 2010 at 1:59 pm
Haha… just saw this, Peter. Quite odd someone has the same exact name as me, or maybe is pretending to be me? LOL
I've been reading through all of your micro niche posts, and I'll be emailing you with a bunch of questions/ideas if you don't mind.
