How To Start Making Money With Adsense

There seems to be no short of blogs making money with adsense or at least trying to. Indeed the way blogs are created nowadays seems to be totally different from when I first started my very first blog. My first blog was set up primarily to compliment my online business opportunities homepage, used more to promote the products I offered and as a means to effectively communicate with my readers and subscribers. Today things are pretty different. Niche marketing seems to have taken the online world by storm and micro niche blogs seem to have found their way to everyone’s lives. There’s definitely increased interest in bloggers trying to come to terms with this evolution and finding the best possible techniques in making money with adsense. To what extent this unsurpassed level of interest grows remains to be seen but I suspect it’s going to get even more exciting.

Here is a review I’ve just written today on my new review blog entitled “How To Increase Google Adsense Earnings“.

But before you do that, just remember if you ever want to increase your adsense money a little more, I’m also using the lazy way to do it:

If you have found interesting ways to increase Google Adsense Earnings I hope that you will share them with us. Just put a comment either on my eReviewer or this blog and share with us how you did it. We really like to learn any new ways that we have not tried out. Over to you….

  • how much do you earn each month when you join adsense from google?
  • @ Jewelry Making Supplies: I just got my adsense account reinstated by Google. Anyway there is no fixed amount. It depends on many factors: your traffic, and how well you place the ads on specific locations on your blog and test and track your results. The key is to put these ads (codes) on many blogs. It is mostly profitable (CPC) on niche blogs.
  • Wow, Peter. Nice to see they reinstated your Adsense account. That's almost unheard of. How did you manage to pull that off?
  • Hi Alan,
Strictly speaking they didn't. This is a new application under my spouse but even this took months to approve so this is very precious to me.
  • Ohh... gotcha. Well hopefully this one doesn't get shut down!
  • Oh? Did you apply from the same computer and address as well? I heard they track by your IP.
  • I hope for the best May it will continue for you.
  • Peter, what you do to request for reinstate your account? Btw, have you done click fraud before and why were you getting banned? I do like to know more about it because my account get banned years ago, and I would like to request for reinstate right now. Mind to share with me how do you do?

    Thanks Peter!

    Regards,
    Lee
  • Lee, it is almost impossible that they will reinstate your account no matter what reasons you give. Unless Matt Cutt is your childhood buddy.
  • @Make Money Online: My account got suspended years ago but I was the innocent party. I was simply told by Google that my account proved a risk to others but they never really explained what had caused this. I felt like a little boy who just had his toy snatched away for no reason.

Ben is right. Nobody gets a reinstatement. This is a new account registered in my spouse's name.
  • Oh I see, I know it's difficult to get our account reinstated but I did see some cases that they got back their Adsense account. But most of them get the first Adsense check before, and they were successfully got back their account after a few weeks. Perhaps they had good explanation and proof, I have no idea about this, and I registered using my sister name too. :D
But I believe that we still can make good income instead of Adsense.

    Regards,
    Lee
  • Its very bad to know that your account had been banned. I hope you will find the right process to reinstate it. I hope for best.
  • @ jewelry Making Supplies-- Have you start absence income with you blog. I know that it needs very much hard work.
  • thanks for the informative article..Why the adsense earnings are less over a period of time and suddenly jumps?
  • @ragu:Thanks for visiting and commenting on this blog and my ereviewer blog where I wrote the review. BTW are you speaking about your experience here...I guess if it is not consistent you would need to test and track until you find the best placement of the ads.
  • Yes Ragu its a very interesting and informative article. We can get more and more here.
  • In my opinion, only niche blog or site can earns well with Google Adsense. I'm on the way building more niche blogs right now. Besides of Adsense, I do make money by selling banners too. :D

How's your earning with Adsense Peter?

    Regards,
    Lee
  • @ Make Money Online: Generally that's true that niche blog will earn more. It has to since most people use niche blog to make money solely on adsense, choosing high paying keywords. On the other hand my work at home site gave me a few hits with CPC about $1.15 and it's not a niche blog. So it depends on the keyword that you are ranking on your site too.
  • Peter, $1.15 average a day seems to be good! I believe that most of the people may think that MMO niche blog is making the most money among other niche blogs, their mind set to be like this, more and more MMO niche blogs born in the blogosphere. In my opinion, niche blog out of MMO niche should have better income. :)

    Regards,
    Lee
  • It depends entirely on the niche for sure. MMO can make some decent money, but there's others niches that make even more. For instance, I know someone in a very hot niche right now, thanks to the economic crisis, and earns anywhere from $2 to $3 from just one click.
  • That is definitely very possible. One of my niche websites can have days with clicks of $3-4 each. On average they are about $1.5 but the high days are fun :)
  • I know I would be. Even $1.5 is good in my opinion. One day I got $2.5 per click... that was very nice!
  • Yeap I gotten that before too! $2.91 per click was exhilarating!
  • Haha, I got $3.05 per click once before from my construction blog. It was really excited!

    Regards,
    Lee
  • Wow... I feel jealous now... haha. It all depends on the niche for sure, and the keywords. I guess it would also have to do with how much the advertiser is paying. That would make sense to me.
  • Haha, I just got $3.05 once and that was the only time. But I do get $2.50 per click from my construction blog as well. As long as you optimize for the high paying keyword, and you rank well for your keyword, then you should get higher rate per click. :)

    Regards,
    Lee
  • @ Make Money Online: Hey that's a good one. Is Construction Blog your niche blog?
  • Yes Peter, that's one of my blog. I have 2 construction blog on hand now, but going to sell one of them coz I have not time to manage it. Anybody interested to buy it? :D I would like to sell it at $100-$150 only..

    Regards,
    Lee
  • How do you determine what people are paying for keywords or what the higher paying keywords are?
  • Its very good offer for you. Stay continue with it.
  • @ Make Money Online: Lee, I haven't even got started for a full month so I've yet to find what's my average for the month. The $1.15 I mentioned is the highest I got for my mainpage, much higher than this blog. So I presumed my main page has higher paying keywords.

BTW we are not supposed to disclose earnings as part of Google TOS.
  • Seriously? Guess I should read their TOS then! Hopefully they don't find this post and suspend all of our accounts... LOL.
  • Hi, Alan TOS is new word for me, Pls tell me about this what is it. So that can I be aware from it. thanks
  • Oh really? I've never read about their TOS but I do know that we can't disclose the CTR and CPC rate. For earning, I've seen many people publish the screenshot of their Adsense earning in their blogs, I think should be no problem?
Seems that I have to read their TOS. :)

    Regards,
    Lee
  • @Make Money Online: I'm new at it too but read at a forum a few days ago when someone published a screenshot with his earnings details and someone said it's against the TOS to do that. Let me know what you found after you've read it.
  • From what I have heard (not read in the TOS), it was against their policy to publish a screenshot of or disclose your publisher ID.
  • I believe that it's not a big deal if we cover the CTR and eCPM, publisher ID as well. I think it's not against their TOS if we just disclose the page impressions, clicks and earnings. I've seen many people published it without any problem.

    Regards,
    Lee
  • That's what I figured as well. I guess we won't know for sure until we actually read their TOS... lol.
  • However, I need to know how to understand keywords more and click-through rates in order to make more money. So are there any good Adsense experts/webmasters out there would could advise me on increading my earnings?
  • I am pretty sure that niche blogs will continue to be popular but there will definitely come a point in time where things will become a lot more difficult than they are now. We're already seeing it in the US market whereas the local markets over the rest of the world are still EXTREMELY easy to rank and profit from.

    /Mikael
  • @ Mikael @ Retire Rich: That's quite interesting. Are you able to elaborate more on this. Why would US market be harder to rank than the rest of the world.
  • Hi Peter, sure. I base it on three things:

    1) My own experience. Since I live in Europe my native language is not English.

    2) What I have read. E.g. the latest PPC Bully launch shared this info as well.

    3) The fact that you have the entire world competing for the US market (me, you, everyone) where as you have a lot less people competing for the native markets because of language barriers.

With Adsense you can also argue that you would make less per click but I was only referring to what it took to get ranked in the search engines.

    Thanks,
    Mikael
  • I've found placement to be the ultimate as far as increased earnings go. Put the ads in a prominent position of your blogs and your post. The color of the ad is also important as you don't want it to stand out too much. It's always a good idea to try different things to see what works best.

Say Peter, I don't know what happened but I've lost all the data on Cool Blog Links. If it's not too much of a hassle it would be nice if you added your blog again. Thanks mate.
  • @Sire:Thanks for the tip. Yes I've added my blog back to your CBL. Thanks for telling me.
  • No worries Peter. I've managed to locate some but not all members, but hopefully those that I've missed will contact me as to what is going on.
  • Youve hit the nail Sire! Thats why testing and tracking are so important.
  • So i've been running my blog for about 6 months now and i'm getting an average of 120 unique hits a day which is currently translating into $150/month in Adsense revenue. If you make money via Adsense or other web advertising, how does that compare with your results?
  • I haven't tried Adsence yet, but I'm thinking on signing up soon
  • It seems that my niche website makes most of my Adsense money, which is fine with me. I'm hoping my newest site will do some of the same. As Sire said, placement and blend seems to be key.
  • @Mitch: Yes placement, blending in, and test and track your results....they are all important. Glad to know you are making money for adsense.
  • Nice eReviewer Peter! Love the way you put it and your reviews flow really well..
  • i tried applying for adsense but they did not allow me, maybe they have some requirements needed right?
  • @Jewelry Making Supplies, It depends on the site you used to sign up for an account. They do have some stipulations. What a lot of people do is start a Blogger blog and use that to apply. With just a few blog posts you'll be accepted.
  • like how many blogs? do you have to post once a day or a week?
  • So i've been running my blog for about 6 months now and i'm getting an average of 120 unique hits a day which is currently translating into $150/month in Adsense revenue. If you make money via Adsense or other web advertising, how does that compare with your results?
  • A brilliant article Peter. I've always wondered how successful you could be with Adsense, it's nice to know it's a viable option for monetising blogs etc. I have noticed you don't run Adsense on this blog though, any particular reason for that? Does it work better on certain types of sites?
  • @ Home-Work-Newbie: Thanks for the compliment. Yes I do have adsense on my blog. Looks like I did a good job blending in,
  • ok I've been looking all over and I can't see your Adsense anywhere here!! I must be blind... either that or you have done a remarkable job of blending them in!
  • He just did a great job in hiding it. ;)

If you use Adsense on your own site it's a lot easier to spot it on another site.
  • Yoyo Peter.. Where have you been?
  • @ Make Money Blogging: Hi Ben, I can see that you new blog is doing very well. Congrats.
  • As a newbie am always looking for these kind of informative site. This post contain very good info in it. Its very useful for all of us. Thanks for sharing it.
  • @ internet marketing reviews: It's heartening to hear you say that and I'm glad you found it useful. I've not seen you here before so a warm welcome to this blog and hope to see you again.
  • I was always interested in making money online but didn’t know how I can achieve this and man your post has really helped me make money online. Thanks for this useful post.
  • @ stash:That's good to hear you say that. Well making money is what gets us all excited. Hope to see you around here soon.
  • wow man, with adsense treasure...but its expensive
  • I think the most important in order to make money using adsense is traffic, especially organic traffic. And then placing the adverts strategically.
  • how much do you get for a hit?
  • I have adsense and the highest paying keywords, the thing is how the heck am i supposed to get visitors to them. How can i do it in a way without being banned from adsense.
  • Great, thought-provoking post. Some of points from this article are very helpful for me as I haven’t considered them yet. Keep blogging. Looking forward to reading your next post.
  • There ar so many views out there about adsense! It was interesting to see all of the stories given here.

I believe that Google is working hard on improving it's Content Network and that drastic changes to it are coming over the next six months. This, together with contextural ads, might reinvigorate adsense.

It's worth keeping an eye on!

    John
