Ever wish your work at home business blog brought in more money than it currently does now? I have ignored [tag-tec]Text Link Ads[/tag-tec] for the past few months, not because of the controversy surrounding the buying/selling of links on websites. I just didn’t have the time then to look closely at this other form of advertising. Well it’s true that Google has been very vocal about people buying and selling links. While this discussion warrants another post, it is sufficient at this juncture to say that there is nothing wrong with accepting an ad on your blog even though you may be paid for this service. Google doesn’t particularly like it when people buy links on high [tag-tec]pagerank[/tag-tec] webpages to increase the [tag-tec]pagerank[/tag-tec] of their own websites. Very often we may not fully understand the circumstances, which led to someone being penalized over some of these paid link activities. In fact I have had the opportunity of corresponding with David Leonhardt from SEO Marketing Express who wrote in an SEO article aptly called Google Cracking Down on Paid Links “… there is nothing wrong with buying paid links, regardless of what Google says or what you think Google says. Paid links are called advertising….”
Is it safe to join?
I did my homework on this ad firm and noted that it had testimonials from several well known and reputable SEO professionals like Aaron Wall, Brad Fallon, Rand Fishkin, among others. That in a nutshell sums up the trust it has earned from established marketers. Besides, [tag-tec]Text Link Ads[/tag-tec] founder Patric Gavin is also a notable search marketing expert who has built a reputable online link advertising system for both publishers and advertisers. He is also a speaker at industry leading conferences including Search Engine Strategies and Webmasterword Conferences.
Make money on autopilot
Well, I joined TLA in the middle of May 2008 and in the first week of June I sold my first text link. So it only took about 3 weeks to get my first link. Not bad – I didn’t have to do anything but sign up and add a small code to my blog. The [tag-tec]Text Link Ads[/tag-tec] system took care of the rest. If you have a webpage that has at least [tag-tec]pagerank[/tag-tec] 3, I highly recommend that you join [tag-tec]Text Link Ads[/tag-tec] and try it out – it’s a nice way to make money blogging from your websites by doing absolutely nothing. Also, they pay on the 1st of every month through Pay Pal and they use mass payment, which means you don’t have to pay any fees.
Text Link Ads can work on static pages too
As the TLA links are loaded dynamically you cannot have them on normal (static) HTML pages. But there is a solution for that. From their FAQ:
If your website uses the Apache web server (as most Linux/UNIX hosting packages do), you can instruct the web server to treat .html (or .htm) files as PHP. To accomplish this, create a file named “.htaccess” in your root directory and add the following to it (or append it to the bottom of the file, if it already exists):
AddType application/x-httpd-php .html
(Note: if you use “.htm” files, replace the “.html” above with “.htm”)
I have not tried this yet on my homepage but I learned that the service support desk offers prompt response to all your questions should you encounter such problems.

I added the Text Link Ads plugin to my blog back in May and signed up on their site. To date, I’ve never received a single ad, so I’m thinking about killing the plugin and moving on. Not sure what else I had to do, but I did write the company and they said I was in their database and to be patient. Five months is pretty patient, wouldn’t you say?

Then nothing until about a month ago when a few came. Also lost some links as they came at the time when I was changing my blog theme. Now I have one, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I have better luck with Backlinks. I sold 4 links last month and 3 this month. You could get started using my ad banner here and joined (it’s free to join). There is no one right way to make money online. From what it sounds like you probably want to take a jack of all trades approach, trying a little of everything. I would suggest that you don't. Find a program that works well for you and perfect it before you move on to something else.

Selling links for search engine benefit is a dangerous road to take. In addition, i believe that the only links that are scored by SE algorithms are aged links – links that have proven themselves to be non-temporal.
