  • Hey Peter,

I just installed the plugin recently and found no problem too. I also changed to gravatar plugin like you suggested and still working well.. Did you miss a step or something?

<abbr>Ben Peis last blog post..Search Engine Copywriting For SEO Without Losing Readability</abbr>
  • That's the only way that Brian's Threaded Comments will work. I've never had any problems with it. Still, I suppose there is always a first time.

  • Hi Sire,

Yes. I think it may be incompatible to my blog theme since it already is gravatar activated or something I did wrongly during the replacement of comment.php process. Did you have to replace comment.php when you did yours. I was told by Gyutae I have to do this. Anyway I'm staying away from this plugin for now. Once bitten....

    Peter
  • Which plugin caused the problem? Nit Brian's threaded Comments?

<abbr>Sires last blog post..Hosting An Effective Blog Contest</abbr>
  • Hi Sire,

This plugin is going to be remembered by me for life. I tried to install it last nite and somehow it didn't work on my theme. I then proceeded to replace my comment.php file with the new one. In the process a fatal error occured and I inevitently hacked my own blog. I worked with my hosting service provider last nite and had to restore my whole blog. It was quite an experience for me which I will share in my next post.

    Peter
  • I agree with Gyutae Park about threaded comments as it saves the hassle of scrolling up and down to follow the conversation.

  • Sounds good to me, I'm doing pretty well in all areas.

  • Hi Dennis,

My My main priority is sharing posts with good content with readers. It so happens that most of these I've come across and shared are of high PR (PR2 and above) and good traffic. I've seen some of my recent link love posts getting PR2 from Google so this seems to be a prerequisite. Having said this, posting link love posts is not for my link building objectives so I'd gladly use a PR0 post if it is a compelling read and has good information, tips. I will not go the extra mile finding high PR and high traffic blog but it's just a bonus (and luck) for me when that happens. My Sunday post is supposed to be a nice laid back enjoyable thing I love doing.

    Peter
  • Good info. What might you consider high PR and traffic assuming we're not Darren Rowse LOL

  • @Gyutae Park: Hi Gyutae, You're welcome. On the Threaded Comments plugin, I've been meaning to find out more and since you mentioned it here, could you provide a link as I'm interested to install it here.

@Dennis Edell: Dennis, I select posts which provide useful information, tips, resources, and generally good content. It helps when the post or blog has high PR with high traffic too.

  • Me too Peter LOL. Do you follow any sort of "criteria"?

<abbr>Dennis Edells last blog post..As Promised - More Link Love for Knowledge Link Love #1 Participants</abbr>
  • Hey Peter,
Thanks for including me on this list. I'm glad you enjoyed my post about "pumping up your blog comments". Judging from all of the feedback on this post, it looks like you're doing a very good job with it.

It might also be a good idea for you to install the Threaded Comments plugin instead of using the @ sign to reply. Not only does it make your comments easier to follow, but it significantly increases your comment counts as well.

    Hope that helps! :)

@Rodney Smith: Rodney, that's a great tool and I'm sure my readers would also welcome it. Is there anyway that I can put it on my post so that my readers can use it. Not sure what this means but you would get a linkback too I suppose. Is this possible? Anyway it's just a thought.

@Simon from Otooo: Simon, you're welcome and BTW congrats on winning a custom blog theme at Balkis. Wow! how I wish it was me. Anyway let us know when you finally changed your theme...
