As usual your linkluv provides a lot of useful information and it is something that I always look forward to. The thing is Peter, I reckon you have way too much time on your hands that you get the opportunity to visit so many interesting blogs.

Sire, considering we place blog commenting as one of our daily routine, finding 5 posts to share really isn’t that difficult or extra work. Thanks for always supporting link love here.

Dennis, yes Google sure did. But do you really think it’s the gospel truth? I’ve always thought Google would never share some of these things they’ve mentioned.

Thanks Peter for some interesting stuff. Particularly “Quit Wasting Your Time With Directories.” The writer really dismisses mass directory submissions. Do you agree? What if there is a directory submission service that:-
1. submits “slowly” to look natural.
2. That “Do Follow.”
3. That all have a page rank.
4. That give you the option of submitting variations of titles and descriptions.
Would you think that is a waste of time and money?

Dave’s Affiliate Marketing: Dave, thanks for visiting, good to see you. I think directory submissions are good only for paid ones not free ones. In the Google’s Q&A(read Yan’s post)”…Matt Cutts: Hey Marjy (testing out this ‘post a response’ thingie). There’s always the chance that we’ll discount directory links in the future….” It has not happened yet but shows Google’s stand or some possible changes to be made sooner or later.

“3 Alternatives to Promoting Your Blogs Homepage That Convert First Time Readers to Loyal Ones” - awesome. I never would have thought to send possible readers towards a landing page on a blog. I didn’t care much for the other two suggestions, but that first one really caught my eye. I’ve been promoting my homepage all this time without a great return rate (people only come back for the top karma links I’m sure), and I’ve never thought of sending them to an alternate landing page… This has really given me something to think about. Would this also help my page gain PR as a whole - they would still be backlinks right? I suppose I will have to look into this more.

@SoLinkable: Yes, this is an interesting post. Well if you do this your page will gain PR over time and it also helps in your overall site PR. It’s all part of deep linking strategy and you can read what I wrote sometime ago:

I probably have asked a lot of questions on this. But I think this is quite an important one. Blog commenting to reach top commentators is obviously a highly efficient technique for backlinks. But since we’re linked through our names eg. liweng. What does it do for our websites in a keyword sense? Thanks.

liweng: Your domain name is not the only important factor that helps you rank well in search engines. An example I can give you is do you know which keyword is the best ranking keyword for Adobedotcom? It’s “Click Here”
