I have to admit I’ve not focused enough link building on my home page ever since this home business blog was set up as a sub-domain. The excuse I’ve been giving myself? I prefer a dynamic page as opposed to static page simply because it offers very personalized and customized visitor experiences. Truth be told, the only link building I’ve done with my homepage seems to be link exchanges with others but mostly with high page rank websites. Well strange as it may sound even to myself, for the last 2 weeks I’ve done what I could never imagine doing – extensive Link Building work on my home page http://www.peterleehc.com.
Link Building – Are there better ways we have not thought of?
While we unanimously agree that link building plays a vital role in getting our blogs and websites better ranked in the Search Engines, particularly Google, the different methods each of us used can produce varied results. Well up till two weeks ago, I was getting tired of the same old link building techniques not yielding me much progress to my search engine ranking. Sure I do have a good number of keyword phrases in page 1 but there are many others getting stuck at page 2and 3. But isn’t that a familiar story you might add? Yes that’s true but I changed all that 2 weeks ago
I found what could be a phenomenal new link building technique. Backlink Building Program I joined Angela Edward’s backlink builder’s program after stumbling across it in the Warriors Forum while working on my blogging service for my client. Essentially members who subscribed to this program will receive this:
- monthly packet of 30 dofollow links of high PR6- PR9
- step-by-step instructions with screen shots showing you exactly where and to how to leave your links on each site.
I’ve found her screen shot instructions so easy to follow that you can do it all at once or you could complete your link building over a few days. It’s your choice. The cost of subscription? Unbelievably $5 per month.
How has this Backlink Builder helped me?
I have used 2 packets of her links (i.e. 60 links of PR6-PR9) and selected my keyword phrase: ‘online business opportunities’ (74 million results, 22200 monthly searches) July 21 24th position
July 26 7th position Today 4th position LATEST UPDATE: #2 POSITION NOW …and yes, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a spike in visits on my homepage…
Why should I continue using this link building technique
Because I’ll be a fool not too
OK, seriously, link building is the lifeblood of our business and I’m a sucker for testing and seeing results. If they are there, I continue testing. But actually all the testing has been done by countless of people since Nov last year and from the testimonials at the forum, everyone seems to have a nice story to tell.
Is doing this legitimate?
Absolutely. It’s white hat. It’s not buying links. It’s just giving you a list of very high dofollw PR sites which Angela painstakingly locate them for your link building.
Most of these 30 links in each packet are probably not your niche type. Is that a problem?
Most SEO consultants would agree that relevancy of the site linking to you is very important and you’ll get more value from a site linking to you from the same niche. But on the same breath, I asked Nicolas Prudhon why then did I get such good results when they are not relevant sites. He says:
“Well, when you talk about PR6 to PR9, even with lower value, there’s still hell lot of link juice passing through. Even if a PR9 only valued at PR6-7 that’s still bound to bring some value. -Nicolas Prudhon, SEO Strategist“
Remember The Google Dance
If you do lots of backlinking or if you intend to purchase a packet here to start, it’s good to know this. There is a phenomenon called ‘The Google Dance’. Shortly after you do the linking you will see movement in Google. Soon after this you may see your site go back and forth in SERP and may completely disappear like it got de-indexed. It didn’t and it’s quite normal. It’s not a penalty and it’s only temporary and you will get your site back in a couple of days.
What others who used Angela’s backlink builder have to say
Yes, I started a couple of days ago and can only say, that it works. Two of my mortgage related SERP`s jumped upwards tens of pages at Google, another from # 31 to # 16 and another one from # 234 to # 109 ( in 24 hrs)….Juhani Tontti
After a month of using Angela’s service, my website is ranking on the first page of Google for the search phrase “work from home opportunities” (without quotes). For only $5 a month, this is a huge steal and worth every penny. I love the service and only wish I have known about it sooner. …Alan Mater
Latest Update
I started working on my 3rd packet of 30 links and completed 20 linking using ‘online business ideas’ keyword. From page 3 it now has moved to page 1 No. 5 (492 million results; 14800 monthly searches).LATEST UPDATE(Sep 11): #1 POSITION NOW

Peter, one question. After a few months if you discontinue the service what happens to the existing links? Will the de-link all you have done?
Thanks
August 5, 2009 at 10:00 am
@Ric: Your links stay even if you discontinue the subscription. One you get that month's packet of links, you will register to these sites and follow the step-by-step screen shot instructions from Anglea telling you where to place your links (remember she has found which specific page is dofollow and accept anchor text etc). Once you registered you can manage your account like any other. Angela does not have any control over your account. So if later on you choose to discontinue for whatever reasons, you still keep these backlinks.Only you have access to your accounts you opened with these high PR sites.
August 5, 2009 at 11:50 am
Thanks for the clarification Peter, this sounds like a good deal, worth a try.
August 5, 2009 at 3:10 pm
Peter that is awesome stats. So what you're saying is that you created these 60 accounts, each with one link saying “online business opportunities” and now you're number 4?
Was this the only linkbuilding you did for that particular phrase?
Mikael
August 5, 2009 at 6:28 pm
@ Mikael @ Retire Rich: Mikael, 'online business opportunities' is a keyword phrase I have been ranking for my homepage for quite some time. The thing is it has never gotten better than page 3 in Google and I guess because there were too many big sites targeting this same KW. This just shows the normal way of link building like blog commenting, article marketing, link exchanges etc, good as they are, are not that effective as most of these sites are of low PR or not even contextual links like blog commenting.
In my third packet I just received for my Aug month, I am now ranking 'online business ideas' (486million results, 14800 monthly searches). Similarly it was on page 3, when I started using Angela's links. Now it's on page 1 just after 2 days. But the position is not stable yet. It's now Google dancing between 3rd to 8th positions. Apparently I kick off some dust with so many high PR sites and it'll take a couple more days to settle down. And to think I've not completed my 30 links. I just completed no. 14 last nite.
August 6, 2009 at 1:04 am
Peter you have described really very well about the importance of the link building to our blogs. After reading your post there is no doubts now. Thanks.
August 6, 2009 at 1:27 am
Hi Peter, was this the ONLY linkbuilding you did for that phrase? I am trying to figure out the effectiveness of the package.
August 6, 2009 at 4:05 am
I saw that offer sometime ago and was a little skeptical, mainly because I was overly concerned about relevancy of backlinks. It seems that Nicolas's opinion on relevancy is shared by more and more SEOs nowadays, that it is important, but it's not 100% essential.
I think I'll give this package a go! Thanks for the heads-up
Regards,
Ed
August 6, 2009 at 5:48 am
Its very nice and informative article. Its very useful thanks for it.
August 6, 2009 at 6:57 am
@Mikael @ Retire Rich:Mikael, if you meant is this a new keyword phrase that I have used the 60 links to rank, the answer is no. I was ranking this keyword for about 6 months. If you meant did I use all the 60 links to point to my home page using this KW phrase the short answer is yes. Each site that I register with does not dictate the number of links to put (usually profile page, about me page, or signature links page) but common sense tells you you should not put too many or else you're considered spamming and risk the account being closed. So I don't put more than 3 links but always include 'online business opportunities', the 2 others point to other sites I have.
Hope this answers your question.

August 6, 2009 at 10:33 am
Definitely. I'm still building my AdSense Treasure site (I'm making it a little different than the format it was supplied in) and I think I'm going to use this to get some good links into it. I'll let you know in the coming weeks how that works out.
How is your AdSense Treasure/Blogprofitz site coming along?
Best,
Ed
August 6, 2009 at 12:11 pm
That's great Peter! Congrats on your current ranking too! In fact, I've tried to contact Angela last week, after a few conversations with her, she sent me a FREE August Packet, but I don't have time to work on it yet, but definitely I'll do it and see the result. Don't worry Peter, when I'm going to sign up on September, I'll sign up under your affiliate link if there is no any accident happens.

30 pr 6 – pr 9 backlinks a month for only $5. That's a great deal. Thanks for the link.
August 6, 2009 at 3:36 pm
Thats a great deal for only $5.
August 6, 2009 at 6:12 pm
@ Lee Ka Hoong: That's great Lee and I'm sure you'll get a boost to some of your favorite keyword phrases you are currently ranking. Thanks in advance for going to use my affiliate link in Sep.

@ howtomakemoneyonline: It's my pleasure!
August 6, 2009 at 11:30 pm
Thanks Peter, looks interesting. Short question, can I use this for several sites. I mean, when you are on the page, can you submit let`s say two site informations. This would save time and bring double results.
August 7, 2009 at 1:05 am
Now I read all the comments, so I can use this for more than just one site.
Just curious, did you do any keyword research or how you judged that you can rank high with these keywords?
August 7, 2009 at 1:13 am
Peter,
from the home page I cannot see, which categories this covers. I think your “work at home” is covered but how about “reverse mortgage loans” or any “mortgage”- related ones?
August 7, 2009 at 3:50 am
Peter, just curious, what keyword tool you use. My search numbers for your two keywords differ.
August 7, 2009 at 7:24 am
@ JuhaniTontti: No I didn't do any keyword research for this, because I was tired of some of my keyword phrases being stuck at page 2 and page 3 ….for God knows how long. So my focus was on some of these keyword phrases I had been ranking for a long time. But I have to admit some of these have quite high competition ( I have another one called 'home business ideas'(539 million and 90,000 searches which currently on page 2 #14 position….never seem to get to page 1…so I'll be working on it soon)
August 7, 2009 at 7:27 am
@ JuhaniTontti: I used Google Adwords: Keyword Tool when I showed these search numbers (June). But you're right different keyword tool will show slightly different numbers so it's best to compare vs others. BTW which keyword tool did you use and could you share the search numbers for my keyword phrases.
August 7, 2009 at 7:31 am
@ JuhaniTontti: Sorry don't quite understand your question…what categories? Did you mean of the 3 links which site/keyword phrase I had used? I believe I pointed to this blog with keyword phrase 'home business blog' currently on page 1 too.
August 7, 2009 at 8:38 am
Hi Peter, well it didn't really
But maybe I should ask in another way…
In that period of 2 months (where you used the 60 backlinks), did you build any OTHER links (than the 60) to your homepage using the keyword phrase “online business opportunities”?
August 7, 2009 at 9:03 am
@ Mikael @ Retire Rich: OK, now I am clear what you are trying to find out. OK first thing first. I did not do this link building for 2 months. After trying out and completing the first packet of 30 links, within 2 days (I had time as I was on a short vacation – told you it was easy), I did not see any results meaning it stayed on 24th position (for this online business opportunities KW) so I decided to purchase another packet of 30 links from Angela (the older months- I asked for June mth – remember I said that her program started way back in Nov '08. All I did was email Angela and send her $5 and I got June's packet of 30 links). Throughout this time I corresponded with Angela Edwards(via email, she is very nice actually) and asked her why no results. She told me different people experienced different results but assured me that it will come. Then 5 days later I saw it move to first page, but still Google dancing but within the first page. Then it sort of settled to 4-5th position from Aug 4 the day I wrote this post. It still is this position by the way. From here on I'll just monitor it and if I lose a few positions it means it's time to add more links from new links in my next month packet.
So my link building for this keyword took only about 5-6 days to see it moved to page 1 and throughout this period I did not do any other link building – heck I was so busy doing all this 60 links.Anyway I did mention that the only link building I did was link exchange and I've not done this for quite some time.
Hope we nailed your question. Let me know if it still has not answered you.
August 7, 2009 at 10:22 am
The system seems cool, and I would like to give it a try since Angela gave me a free August packet. Anyway, I'll update you my result in the coming days. Thanks for your recommendation Peter!
Regards,
Lee

@ Home-Work-Newbie: HI Ed, I'm starting to get some clicks on adsense so it's a good sign. I'm glad I used Blogprofitz and I don't have to worry about keeping my contents fresh. It's fully automated in terms of posting for all my 5 blogs. I just try to find new topics to add on, so the contents are growing at a good rate.
August 8, 2009 at 8:04 am
Nice blog post sir, I will read it later.
August 8, 2009 at 9:13 pm
@ moonheart009: Hi Chandan, good to see you here. Well hope you like what you read.
August 9, 2009 at 3:03 am
Hi Peter,
I just signed up using your link. For what I understood, she is giving you the info where and how you can manually get a backlink, so I guess it is not automation, is it?
Luis
August 9, 2009 at 3:28 am
@ Marketing Business Review: Hey Luis, it's good to see you here and thanks for signing up. Yes there is no automation here. Once you subscribed you will have access to Aug packet of 30 high value links (PR6-PR9) with screen shots of each of these 30 sites where and how to place your links including which ones use html, BBCode etc.In fact that help is the best part otherwise you never know where to put your links and most of these sites are huge.
Hope you're enjoying your full time business and restaurant. I'll be visiting your blog real soon.
August 9, 2009 at 7:56 am
Yes, Sir can you tell me please that google penalize for selling ads on blog?
August 9, 2009 at 9:28 am
@ moonheart009: Yes you're right. Google is on the hunt for people selling links. But selling ads on your blog is OK as long as you put dofollow on the links. However if you do 3rd party ads, this is not possible. Like I was penalized for having TLA ads on this blog and I lost my PR3 in Apr. I have since removed the scripts and just waiting for Google to give its blessing. I hope I get it back, but then again I won't lose any sleep if I don't as long as I continue to get my good search engine ranking. As you know page rank only contributes 20% of your search engine ranking.
August 9, 2009 at 10:34 am
Thank you for your reply sir. Sir can you please tell me how I put do follow tag when I sell ads on my blog? Ok so if I can not sell ads on my blog, what is best income source for my blog except google adsense.
August 9, 2009 at 11:39 am
@moonheart009: Oh sure, before that take note there was a typo I meant put a “nofollow” link. To do that use this example just put rel=”nofollow” before href.I used OIOPublisher which allows me to select dofollow or follow links.
August 9, 2009 at 12:07 pm
It depends on what type blog you have, then only we can know what is the most suitable income source for your blog. I think Google Adsense is the easiest way to make money, but you need to know SEO technique to make a passive income.
Regards,
Lee
August 10, 2009 at 1:22 am
Peter, fantastic results! I too have signed up for Angelas Backlink Builder but am yet to fully utilize the links she gives us. But seeing what kind of results you have gives me the motivation to get stuck into it!
August 10, 2009 at 4:48 am
@ petraweiss: Glad you're going to do it. Do share with us what results you achieved. Good luck on your backlink builiding.
August 10, 2009 at 8:21 am
That's great news Peter! I've actually decided to turn my AdSense Treasure site into an article directory… not sure if that's going to generate any clicks but we'll see, I'll send you a link once it's done!
August 11, 2009 at 9:41 am
I've just done 25 links that Angelas gave me last week, then I have to see how's the result for the keyword I optimized.
Again, thank you for telling us about this Peter!
Regards,
Lee
August 11, 2009 at 10:16 am
@ Lee Ka Hoong: That's good Lee, let us know how it goes. Remember the Google dance I mentioned. It's better to stick to a few favorite keyword phrases for these 30 links so that you know for sure everyone of them gets in the high PR websites.
August 14, 2009 at 2:53 pm
hows the results?
August 14, 2009 at 9:13 pm
@ Jewelry Making Supplies: Well the 2 keyword phrases 'online business opportunities' and 'online business ideas' are still on Google's page 1, so I'm pretty happy. I'm about to get my 4th packet from Angela to get another keyword phrase to page one. Look out for my next post with more details.
August 14, 2009 at 10:11 pm
Okay Peter, thanks for your opinion! Anyway, I've just done the August packet 2 days ago, my rank is dropped a few places to the 2nd pages right now. As what I read from the tutorial from Angela, I think it's normal phenomena and I'm going to see how's that after few days.
How's your ranking now Peter? Any improvement?
Regards,
Lee
August 15, 2009 at 12:01 am
@ Lee Ka Hoong: The 2 keyword phrases are still on page 1 so I did not do any more linking. I'll be ranking on another keyword phrase with another packet I just bought from Angela. One thing to note is that sometimes if your keyword has very strong competition, it may require at least 2 packets to see some real movements. Like my first keyword phrase 'online business opportunities' I used 2 packets.
August 17, 2009 at 11:17 am
Hi, I have heard about Angela's backlink service. But this is the first time I have seen someone posting actual results. This seems very impressive. Thanks for sharing
August 17, 2009 at 11:23 am
@ freewebsitetraffic: It's good to get quality incoming links from many different sites and not the same sites so this is something worth doing for SEO.
August 21, 2009 at 5:19 pm
Those links will get you short term results but i will GUARANTEE results will be short lived (about two months). I test every new strategy I hear about on the various forums and setup a blog which exclusively used these links. The blog ranked well after 4 weeks and picked up a lot of traffic. After 3 months the blog started to drop at a rapid pace in the SERPs. The reason ? Well simply, those social forums are killing the links. Plus with all this “spamming” on their sites, a few smart guys with the skills are building plugins to ensure the links on profile pages are taken out.
August 22, 2009 at 4:36 am
I thinks that it would not be. Back links are for long time.
August 26, 2009 at 6:47 am
Did you do anything other than Angela's Backlinks?
August 26, 2009 at 7:04 am
@ suzie_100: Nope. Angela's backlinks is all I had used, so that's easy to make your conclusion as there are no other possible contributing factors.
August 26, 2009 at 7:13 am
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly Peter, that's good to know. I have seen a lot around forums on the Angela backlinks, but you never quite know what to believe although it seemed quite good.
thanks for confirming, I shall take a look.
September 5, 2009 at 12:52 pm
This is a really great “blog” tons of information that anyone can use – doesnt matter if they are experienced or not. Thanks for this!
September 5, 2009 at 1:58 pm
Hi Peter,
Excellent review. You have me convinced on this one. $5 seems like an absolute steal to get access to high PR backlinks. I'm sure this could help my site out a lot as well.
Thanks for sharing this one.
September 5, 2009 at 7:37 pm
@ Alan Mater: Thanks Alan. In this business of ours, we know backlink building is going to be a part of our lives. It's like having to put gas on your car so that it continues to run. Here we continue to feed the backlink monster to keep our ranks high up at the search engines.
September 8, 2009 at 10:48 am
How many packets did you use and over what time period (I have heard about sandboxing and just wondered really what was deemed “acceptable” in the eyes of the search engines.
September 8, 2009 at 11:20 am
@ suzie_100: I used 2 packets of 30 links each over a period of about 2 weeks. 30 links a week is really not much to cause any undue attention from the search engines. It's people who do black hat techniques like link farming that get the attention and into trouble.
September 8, 2009 at 3:44 pm
Amen to that. It's quite time-consuming as well, so anything to ease the process and get the most out of the time I put in is a huge benefit for me.
September 11, 2009 at 7:03 pm
@peterlee: Latest update!! As of today Sep 11, my second keyword phrase “online business ideas” is now on Google No. 1 position (492 million results; 14800 monthly searches). It just shows that it works.

September 23, 2009 at 10:18 am
In my opinion, backlinking is one of the most important parts of SEO, aside from choosing appropriate keywords for your site and those backlinks. They go hand-in-hand. Keep building those backlinks!
September 23, 2009 at 10:20 am
Hey Peter, how long did it take for you to start seeing results after you built these high PR backlinks. I've just finished one package so far and going to start another. I haven't seen a dramatic jump yet.
September 23, 2009 at 10:54 am
@ Alan Mater: Firstly thanks for subscribing through my link. Different people get different results and I started to see movements at first for the worse (the Google dance) and then my site disappeared completely for a few days (Google dance again) and then it came back in better position. All in all about 1 week for me. The thing is to use all the 30 links for the same anchor text. For one keyword phrase I used 2 packets because there was too much competition. For each url you should put 2 links otherwise (if more) your account might risk being deleted if they thought you're spamming. So I usually put 2 links on each site (with different url/anchor text)
September 23, 2009 at 12:22 pm
Hey Peter, sure thing. Glad you posted about it. It's been about a week since I finished my first package. I'm only using two links per site, with each link pointing to different sites. I'm using the same keyword phrase for the sites to maximize my chance of moving up in the SERPs. My site has jumped up and down on the second page but hasn't made it to the first page yet. Hopefully after the second package it will. The keywords are very competitive, so I'm sure I just need a few more links.
September 27, 2009 at 9:01 am
Peter
Not a sceptic, just careful whether iots $5 or $500.
All your sites you link to in this blog are PR0 so it all seems a little odd
September 27, 2009 at 9:52 am
@ paulrobertlane: “All your sites you link to in this blog are PR0…”
Paul, I don't quite understand what you meant by this statement of yours. Can you elaborate on what you are trying to say? All the 30 links in each packet are PR6-PR9. I link FROM them to my sites so I don't quite understand.
September 27, 2009 at 10:30 am
Hi Peter
I am not having a knock here, indeed I have bought it myself to try at that price, its just that I am always wary about affiliate plugs be they 5 bucks or 500 bucks.
Both your Blog (this one) and your Biz Oppos website are PR0 (at least they are on my Google datacenter). If your backlinking was truly working you should get some PR feed to your own sites. Its like when Matt Cutts was telling us not to use “nofollow” on a blog full of nofollow links.
September 27, 2009 at 7:14 pm
@paulrobertlane: My blog was PR3 and my home page PR4 in April when because Google found text link ads on this blog, it went down to PR0 and PR2 respectively. I then removed all TLA ads along with the TLA script. I recently lost my homepage from PR2 to PR1 when I outsource some work to someone and he accidentally deleted my index file and all the major files too. When my host hostgator recovered these files, my homepage showed PR0 and since then never came back.
You have to know I just started using Angela's backlinking since Aug '09 and because Google's PR update has not happened, it is still showing PR0. But what is more important is that Angela's links help to improve all the keyword phrases I'm ranking. I think you know that PR is not take important and it also affects about 20 pct of your search engine ranking.
October 14, 2009 at 9:03 pm
I have found building links both relevant and not, rewarding in the sense that when I visit a blog I read about what they are posting. I have learned things about travels to China and how to clip my dogs toe nails, both on pr4-6 and of course SEO Services sites….
open our minds and the rest will follow…

@Peter – Thanks Peter as I too am going to order the packet and this explanation has convinced me totally that these links are really going to help my site. It's always good to see how promptly and helpfully you answer to our queries. I'm going to sign up with your referral – you rightfully deserve that.

Hi Peter, I actually knew about Angela's back link service also. At a cost of 5 dollars a month, you will get good backlinks to help improve your website rankings online. Stone's 30 day training also says something about this backlinks but I wasn't sure how good it is. I was looking for sort of a review site on this backlink service. Thanks for enlightening me

Peter,
How much time do you spend on marketing verus blogging and content building now (not when you first started, but after you had things “going”)
I am trying to gauge if I am spending too little or too much on content building still, versus marketing, for my money making blog , by asking you and some of the others in the community this question.
Thanks for your time! Also, anyone else out there on how much % of your time goes to content building versus marketing? 50-50? 80-20? 20-80?

@Michael Erik: I don't have much time to spend in the first place since I have a full day job and I spend about 2 hours blogging per day, mostly link building related.
