Hi, that was an interesting experience. I got a website grade of 70 and I thought that it was pretty good for a blog that is less than a month old. A couple of my other blogs got a grade of 92 and 90
The thing with this site is that not only does it give you a grade but it also explains why thereby giving you the information to improve your blog. A truly great find.

I actually got the same reply for all my blogs and it is one that I plan to ignore as the images are necessary to the blogs functionality. The only problem with the images are that it slows the loading time of the page, but unless you are on dial-up I think it is barely noticeable.

Hi Sire,
You can actually use an image optimizer to reduce the image size by as much as 90% (in bytes) – it lets you make your choice of how much you want reduced. The link is in my post here:

Thanks for the link, I did go to that site and reduced my header by 50%! The reduction in quality is noticeable but I can live with it. As for the page loading quicker, well to tell you the truth, I couldn’t really tell the difference.
September 7, 2008 at 8:42 pm
Sire,
Well if you have many images like me and wish to keep it is good to keep the image size as low as possible for new additions. 2 weeks ago my blog”s right side bar took 2 minutes to load and after reducing some images and especially unwanted widgets, got the blog loading up normally again.

That’s wonderful news and at the rate you are progressing you are going to beat Yan (sorry Yan if you are reading this) who got PR3 in 3 months. What’s the secret of your success, if I may ask. I’m particularly interested to know where your links growth is coming from.

@Domain Structure: Hi Brian, 100 new links a day that’s really remarkable. Do you do article directories, although one got to careful of content duplication when doing so. What about social bookmarking.

September 14, 2008 at 10:34 am
I used to do some article submitting but not anymore.. I use digg quite a bit. Help get pages indexed faster.

Domain Structures last blog post..Are You Building Enough Back Links?
September 15, 2008 at 6:48 pm
@Domain Structure: Hi Brian, I do get some traffic from social bookmarking sites but I noticed that for StumbleUpon I get more but only when others stumbled it and depending on how good the post title is. In my opinion I think such traffic is short term.

September 15, 2008 at 7:08 pm
@Peter Heck, never thought about it. Had a quick look at today’s stats and the majority is predominantly from Google.
September 15, 2008 at 11:54 pm
Peter.. in regards to stumble traffic I have noticed that it is great for short term gains but not long term benefits.
I can receive anywhere from 500 to 1000+ hits from stumble but after a few days the visits decrease. That is why I prefer digg. Less traffic.. but I feel as though the traffic is more beneficial for my sites.

Is meta keywords still important for SEO? I’ve only put a meta description up, and thought that meta keywords weren’t relevant any more. Is that correct?
November 21, 2008 at 9:47 am
@liweng: Meta keywords are viewed as important in some search engines compared to others. So don’t ignore it as you want traffic from as many search engines as possible.
