Do you believe that the number of RSS Subscribers you have for your Legitimate Home Internet Business‘ RSS feed determines a fair measurement of how popular your blog is or perceived to be?
I value subscribers more than any other measure of blog success, such as page views or raw traffic. Subscribers are the life blood of a successful blog in my opinion, and frankly, I wish I had more of them.

It is every blogger’s greatest desire to see a big increase in the
number of RSS subscribers in his RSS feed. To him, getting that important “click” is a vote of confidence, an endorsement of what he is writing and a boost to him to continue his good work. I have seen many bloggers go the extra mile just to increase their subscribers list. The latest blogger to do so is ProTycoon.com who writes free blog review for anyone who asks and getting a free linkback. The catch? Just subscribe to his blog.
The main purpose of readers subscribing to your legitimate home internet business blog is to be informed of your new posts and then come back to read them isn’t it? Well achieving that is the easy part. The more difficult part would be how to keep him as your RSS subscriber for good. While this is an important topic to discuss and I do like to cover it in later posts, but for now I really like to focus first on “How to get More RSS Subscribers“. I have seen an increase in the number of subscribers for this blog over the last 3 weeks and thought it’s a good idea to do a quick analysis of what contributed to this little success and at the same time share it here with anyone wishing to get more RSS Subscribers. Are you ready?
Make Your RSS Buttons Visible
In order to get people to notice your RSS icons, you just have to make them more visible in your blog and located at strategic
areas. If you’ve done this, you can be sure that at any time when this reader is sold to your blog or its contents or for whatever reasons that he now wants to be your RSS subscriber and ready to “click” the RSS button, it can be easily found. Here are 51 RSS buttons, in all shapes and sizes, colors and dimensions. You will be spoilt for choice to find a few suitable ones for your legitimate home internet business blog.
Ask and You Shall Be Given
Yes very often your readers need some coaxing even when it is free, good quality stuff and no strings attached. So don’t think twice about putting it on your posts. Just get that message across and ask them nicely “subscribe to my blog“.
Blog Quality Content
There can never be a substitution for writing original and a stellar posts. You may do your research work by visiting other internet home business blogs on the topic but every word that you now write has to be original, from you. In fact if you use a similar topic and present your views, your own perspective and offers advices, suggestions and solutions, you can be sure that you will be viewed as someone with authority on that subject.
Needless to say if you do research work and provide very useful information that people are looking out for, this is going to take you some time and you should therefore be prepared to devote a few good hours to complete it. For example just to give you a better perspective on this, I usually take at least 5 hours to write and publish each of my Link Building Strategy Blog Series Posts, including searching or creating accompanying images.
Add Snippet at End of Each Post
I have added a snippet at the end of every post which is nothing more than my selected text which I then enclosed it with a double line border. This text in which I can change at anytime at the moment reads like this:
Did you enjoy this post? Why not subscribe to my RSS feed. That way you’ll never miss out on new blog posts. Click here for the feed.
I think the border cleverly helps to give more attention to the reader. This is the HTML code that I’m using on this blog:
<div style="padding: 10px; border: 3px double #00f; font-size: 1.4em; line-height: 1.65em; margin-bottom: 20px;">Did you enjoy this post? Why not <a href="http://feeds2.feedburner.com/peterleehc/Gmzy"_blank" title="Click to subscribe to this blog">subscribe to my RSS feed</a>. That way you'll <strong>never miss out on new blog posts</strong>. <a href="http://feeds2.feedburner.com/peterleehc/Gmzy" target="_blank">Click here for the feed</a>.</div>
Feel free to grab this code for your own WordPress blog. Just go to the Theme Editor (wp-admin > Presentation > Theme Editor) and edit the Main Index Template. Then put it somewhere between <?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?> and <?php endwhile; ?> — but preferably closer to <?php endwhile; ?>
Add Pictures to Your Post
If you’ve been a regular visitor or a subscriber to my blog, you may have noticed that I started adding pictures just before the start of my Link Building Strategy Series Posts. That’s when I found out having a picture in your blog post really brings out the message you wish to focus on and share with your readers. So searching for a somewhat relevant picture does help your cause even more. If you are unable to locate a relevant one, well just create one with your own text. The downside of adding pictures is that it takes up too much of your time. Well that’s where I can help to alleviate some of this hardship. Here are a few of the websites that I have used to search for my favorite pictures:

Blog Translation - How Important is it?
Sometime ago I read an article about an interview given by Matt Cutts from Google mentioning that it is important to create a useful resource or service to attract visitors. It’s quite an interesting thought provoking statement and it does seem very true. But I was wondering how successful a blogger would be after he has created this useful resource. I mean the home business internet marketing world is pretty big and the thing that strikes me is that there could be a whole lot of people who, due to language barriers may not understand you, despite how good your resource or service is.
- Over 100 million people access the Internet using a language other than English
- Over 50% of web users do not speak English
- Web users are four times more likely to make purchases from sites written in the local languages
Forrester Research
I do have a quick solution – Install Yahoo Babel Translation. The link to install this excellent tool can be found at the right side bar of this blog.
