Did you know that getting to Google top 10 ranking can significantly increase traffic to your site? And since Google accounts for more than 65% of all search traffic, each time you improve Google search engine ranking to page 1 position, that is bringing more than 50% of total traffic for your niche.(In my last post I mentioned I saw a 47% increase for my home page)

So how to increase traffic to your site?

Just get more keyword phrases to Google’s page 1 :-). You could write lots of content on your blog targeting these keywords and after some time and if you are lucky you may have a number of your keywords on page one. But if you’ve read my recent post “Link Building: Taking Backlink Building To A Higher Level” I found a faster way of doing just that. I do lots of backlink building to increase search engine ranking using Angela Edwards’ Backlink Building program. Another Experiment to Get Google Top 10 Ranking For Another Keyword Phrase

Because of my recent good results and since I am now continuously doing backlink building using this technique, I have selected another keyword phrase “home business ideas” to put to the test. This keyword is currently on Google’s page 2, 15th position. I’ve been ranking on this keyword for at least 2 years and nothing I did using all other means could improve this position. In fact at times it moved to page 3. Will I be able to get it to an improved search engine ranking i.e. Page 1? Well the answer lies in the backlink building I’m going to do and the 25 PR6-PR9 links (possibly 50 links) that I’ll be using to try to achieve that.

This experiment is somewhat different from the last one in that I have yet to achieve any improved results during post publication. So you get to see it for yourself the SERP movement, the Google dancing right before you if you like to follow the progress. Hopefully it ends on a high!

Once this post is published I will commence my backlink building work as I’ve just purchased a new packet from Angela. I will be documenting the results regularly so do stay in touch with the progress update. One thing I learned is that during the backlink building the ‘Google Dance’ comes into play, meaning my position starts to fluctuate quite a bit. In my last keyword ranking the position completely disappeared for 2 days before reappearing on page 1 and have stayed there since.
