My Google Adsense earnings for Nov’09 posted $104.32 and while it’s not earth shaking news, it does give me some satisfaction and I probably should enjoy the moment a little. Although it is not my biggest earner for some months, it’s been my most consistent revenue generating advertising program.
Well after 6 long months, I finally made $100 in Adsense earnings in a single month, a first for me since I started using the ad network around end May 2009. I know for many marketers that’s nothing much to shout about and the real achievements are really from those people who have gone to make $100 per day in adsense. Yeah I see quite a number of such feats in many online forums. Well for what it’s worth I like to reflect upon this small milestone and share with you what I’ve learned:
1. Will having more websites help?
I started with one domain (1 homepage, 1 blog) and now I have 7 domains and 9 websites. I have seen many people succeed in Google Adsense with just one authority website and with tons of content pages. As I don’t have an authority website and since this blog has only a humble 190 posts, I decided Micro Adsense Mini Sites was my best option.
2. Does more traffic equal more adsense income?
I used to believe you need lots of traffic and perhaps that’s why I started my adsense journey so late. While there is some truth in it, I like to think it applies more to the conventional type of websites. The small niche sites received more targeted traffic and therefore more clicks given that a page is focused entirely on one keyword phrase. I’ve seen many of my niche sites getting few impressions but as much as 50% CTR.
3. Blending your ads
I have found blending the ads into my blog help to give better results. I did lots of testing but found the borderless ad block size 336×280, blue color links, grey-out text help increase Google AdSense click-through rate.
4. Follow a Proven Adsense Master Course
I have to say it not because this is an affiliate link but following XFactor’s Micro Niche Adsense Course was the turning point of my Adsense milestone. It has saved me loads of time testing and tweaking but most of all I didn’t know a thing about creating Micro Niche Adsense sites to begin with.
5. Choosing the right niche makes all the difference
To be honest before learning from Xfactor’s Adsense Course and before I came to know about what Micro Niche Finder can do, I thought I would have difficulty selecting the right niche to target. Well today I don’t have such fears and I much enjoy finding a new niche each time I’m ready to add on to my growing micro niche adsense sites.
6. Why do you need 100′s of Micro Niche Websites
Well even though I only have 9 earning websites I know it’s a lot more profitable than 2 when I just got started. You will also have to accept the fact that not all your websites are all going to do well and remain on Google’s page 1. So far I’ve had 1 niche site sandboxed and just returned back to normalcy.
Perhaps what I learned from someone who makes more than $100 a day tells a lot why the more sites the better. He says only about 10% of his sites make the real dough but he is still growing adsense empire every week. He is in a comfortable position to wait for many to come out of sandbox as that seems to be a temporary phase most new sites go through. It has got to be about using the right strategy, continue backlinking and having self-belief that it will work.
7. The good old ‘rinse and repeat’ the process
If you do find a winning formula or business strategy, you ought to duplicate your success over and over again. It is the same here too. If I didn’t think it worth adding on more adsense sites, I would have stopped wasting my time. Well I’m now on no. 6 and thinking of doing no. 7 soon so that says a lot.

Congrats Peter! I've not visited your blog for quite some times due to busy workload and now I see you earning so well with Adsense as well as other sources! My adsense earning has yet to touch the $100 borderline, about $80-90 per month. I just created 20 micro niche sites and yet to launch it, will be launching all of them on next week.
What I can say is, choosing the right keyword is the key. MNF does a great job in keyword researching.
Peter, do you think we should follow XFactor’s Micro Niche Adsense Course if I already have MNF? I also learned a few little tips from my brother, so I try to apply all the tips on my 20 micro niche sites, so let's see how it's going.
Cheers,
Lee

Hi Lee, good to see you here again. Actually MNF and John's Xfactor Adsense course are 2 different things. MNC is just a tool which helps you find your niches very quickly. In John's course he teaches and breaks down every single step he takes when building his adsense sites – everything he does in this blueprint This includes niche selection, the template he uses and what colors etc. Even teaches on how to write your content, where to get the ideas, how to write your article's bio. Even if you don't buy you should read the WF thread. But the real deal is in the ebook:-)

I was curious about Adsense and you all seem to be very knowledgeable regarding it. Is Adsense just one part of your earning mechanisms or are you doing multiple earning websites? My one concern is that Adsense would distract from my product. Thanks for the information and any feedback you can provide.
December 13, 2009 at 1:20 am
My monthly adsense earning not more than $50 to $60, I have learned that if I get more traffic from google with keyword like “google home affiliates, google work at home jobs”, I get more adsense click, hence more adsense earning. But now a days I am seeing that my google traffic is going decrease.
December 13, 2009 at 11:17 pm
Yea to make 100 a month in the making money niche is hard in my opinion. The reason why is because people like me and many others do not click on google ads because they know most of the time the content is irrelevant and they are just trying to sell us something. But great job on your achievement. Google adsense is my biggest earner too. Good job peter!
December 14, 2009 at 6:26 am
with other websites, does it need to have a separate adsense account for it? I was thinking about the incentives for the visitors.
December 14, 2009 at 8:20 am
Great job, Peter! This is something I'm going to look into once I have the time to implement it. Looks like it's working out really well for you. Garry Conn does this sort of thing and makes a full-time income. You'll be there soon.
December 14, 2009 at 11:39 pm
Hey man..!! Congrats for the success..!! Definitely this will again help you to go beyond the limits of horizon… Your dedication will help you a lot to grow.
December 15, 2009 at 8:02 am
Thanks Alan. Yes Garry is one blogger I truly admire and respect. I am doing it part time though so it's going to be really slow for me, but I hope to make good progress.
December 15, 2009 at 8:04 am
Thanks for dropping by and sharing your opinion. Glad to hear that Google adsense is your biggest earner.
December 15, 2009 at 8:05 am
I think it depends on what keywords you are ranking and how much searches per month they generate. Good to hear you're making so much money in your adsense. Good job!
December 15, 2009 at 8:09 am
Thank you, but if I earn $100 per month then I can able to get my payment on monthly basis.
December 16, 2009 at 6:47 am
Basically what you're trying to say here is you should have more than 1 domain and more than 1 website in order to earn as much as $100/mo, is that correct? Sighs.. . for something that is not my day-job that's gonna be more work with less time. I love to blog too, in fact, I have a hobby blog which I'm thinking of monetizing. But this looks a bit tough. Would you say I have a better chance at affiliate advertising?
December 16, 2009 at 9:17 am
Yes that is correct but for me at least because I know of others who used different methods to make adsense work and found great success too. Whatever works stick to it as there is no perfect way.
December 16, 2009 at 10:07 pm
I have had a lot more success with Adsense using multiple sites vs. just one authority site. The big thing to remember when you're creating those sites for Adsense is creating sites that are truly valuable, otherwise Google could put the slap on everything, especially if all of your sites are on one Adsense account, which likely they are.

Hi Kristi,
That's very true and thanks for pointing that out. Having quality and original content is the absolute must and if you create a lot of these small sites you will know how to get the almost perfect and optimsed one pager that is original and enticing to your readers looking for information.
Thanks for dropping by.
December 20, 2009 at 12:32 am
Great job, Peter; you've definitely come a long way on this stuff. I hit $100 a month only once, and I felt really great when it happened. I make most of my money off an authority site also, but I'm not sure I'd call it a micro mini site. I hope you continue growing.
December 21, 2009 at 12:51 am
You've come a long way, Peter. Yes, it's a matter of rinse & repeat but the key is to reinvest your earnings into outsourcing. So you can focus on what you do best – keyword research and leave the writing to someone else who does it better.
All the best and way to go, my friend.

HI Yan,
Thanks for the tip and I'm sure I'll try outsourcing one day given that I still have a full time job and it could be a good solution to my 'too little time too much to do' syndrome. Hey you decided to abandon the 'smiling blogger' image of you eh?
December 21, 2009 at 7:53 am
Well, still smiling. Just not so obvious…. LOL. It's 2010, ma?
December 21, 2009 at 11:23 am
hello I want to ad google adsense to my website and I was wondering do you get to post what type of ads you want for google adsense?
December 21, 2009 at 3:56 pm
Really great infos and congratulations too your sucsess. One question: do I need more than one adsense account if i have more sites.
December 21, 2009 at 6:09 pm
Google automatically chooses ads for you from about 100,000 adword advertisers. What ads it chooses depends on your contents so your page should be well optimized and having a few of your keyword phrases. There are also ways to make your ads more relevant to your website and you can learn it from Google Adsense site.
December 21, 2009 at 6:09 pm
No you only need one adsense account, that's the beauty of Google Adsense.
December 22, 2009 at 6:57 am
Blending the ads will increase CTR rate as they become and look like your content and links.
December 23, 2009 at 8:41 am
Useful post Peter!
I have noticed that blogs are a little bit difficult for AdSense income. That is my experience. Maybe it depends on the content and the nature of the blog. Readers do not see them as ad-mediums.
But otherwise I am happy with my AdSense income. After weeks and weeks of testing ( months back ) I finally found the formula for a decent income.
After I succeeded the first site, I started to hunt the high paying keywords / low traffic formula ( which is the idea, which you have, I suppose) with my new Garden of AdSense sites.
I have launched only one AdSense only site, but noticed that the traffic amount can be compensated with the high Click Through Rate. Actually it is much nicer to see more expensive clicks coming than to hunt for the traffic.

Hi Juhani,
Congratulations on your success in adsense. I hope to learn more from you. I'm still trying to learn as much as I can on making more money with adsense.

Google goes beyond simple keyword matching to understand the context and content of web pages. Based on a sophisticated algorithm that includes such factors as keyword analysis, word frequency, font size, and the overall link structure of the web, they know what a page is about, and can precisely match Google ads to each page.

The only way to use Google Adsense with youtube is to become a youtube partner. Go to youtube.com and scroll to the bottom of the page. Click on Adsense.
January 12, 2010 at 8:59 am
Definitely worth the investment. Since I invested in Google Adsense I made over $100,000 profits. To be honest you cannot beat the services or the people that I have dealt with.
February 19, 2010 at 5:27 am
Hi peter, i would say something abıut the 3thd lesson. Google TOS have an update about blending Ads. Everyone says that blending Ads is a good option, i use to say this too but be carefull, users should not click ads acidentally.
February 27, 2010 at 2:29 am
Peter,
The grayed-out Adsense is a great idea and I have just adopted it as of today. Also, do you think green, blue or orange is a better color for the title of the Adsense link?
March 9, 2010 at 3:44 am
Hi Peter Congratulations and thanks for sharing your great experience. I am quoting your great experience including your web Address, in my blog so that many people can share your experience.
