In my niche most of my competition has been online way longer than me, have way more links to their websites and they have PR's of 4 and better. However my placement in the search engines out rank the majority of these big time PR achievers so there are other factors (like you said Traffic, Content, etc.) that need to be researched other than what is in the list. The homepage went down from PR4 to PR2. I think there were 2 things that may have caused this. I don't sell links but Google probably didn't like my having 3rd party ads. I now had all this taken down. There were also many errors on 301 redirect on that day it happened, although not sure how that happened.
