When my close friend June Parker first showed me her draft eBook titled: “Quit Being A Wage Slave Using 10 Easy Steps” to take a look and give her some honest feedback, I said to her sure, but in reality read only the first 2 lines of her sales page, ignored it and put that as low priority. The 2 lines read:

The truth is most of the ebooks I’ve come acrossMake Easy Money Online were mostly a rehash of another ebook or things which we can find elsewhere for free, if we just spend a little time to look for the information. So I usually stayed away from ebooks, no matter how enticing the title sounds. But after ignoring it for one week, I didn’t have any more excuses not to look at it and I had to give an honest opinion to a good friend. So reluctantly I told myself here goes…

This woman ignored the “Gurus”

Before trying to understand what June really meant when she said this, I did a check on the definition of a guru:

A guru is a person who is regarded as having great knowledge, wisdom and authority in a certain area, and uses it to guide others. The word comes from Sanskrit Gu, darkness, and Ru, light (prakash); literally a preceptor who shows others knowledge (light) and destroys ignorance (darkness).

In a Legitimate Home Internet Business perspective, I like to think that one who is called a “guru” must have become very successful in his work at home business and made even more money teaching people how to be successful. So why did June ignore the gurus just like I ignored eBooks? I could almost hear her say “Why pay $100’s to $1000’s for phone consultations and workshops with the best in Work At Home Business?”. It was intriguing to say the least. And something which now got my attention not to mention my left brain and right brain all pretty much confused processing this information.

  • No offense, but I really dislike the "wage slave" term. In a sense we're all slaves to money in one way or another. Having a steady job is something to be proud of - there wouldn't be an economy otherwise. And don't forget that most customers of online businesses are "wage slaves" too - not a very flattering way to talk about those who support you, is it!

  • @Rodney@Blogging with WordPress: Rodney, hmmm... I felt the same way too when I first read it but unfortunately I promote the ebook, didn't write it. But it depends on who reads it. For someone who has been working most of his life without much improvement in his pay, career, prospects but still do not have the courage to do something else, this "wage slave" term could be a wake-up call to do something different. It could also be some marketing strategy the author June has adopted. Anyway, nobody knows this except her. If I have the chance I may just ask her the real reason why she chose "wage slave".

    To be very true, majority of ebooks its just an compilation of other ebooks on the topic and nothing else. Believe me I am not able even to get a single ebook which would be written for the sake of knowledge and not to earn money(I am talking about all those useless internet marketing ebooks, I don't like Mike Filsame either). My trust on ebooks is a mess which only need one useful ebook to be cleared.

  • This world is full of gurus, secrets, lucks, hard workers, average and intelligent people. I think we just need to know our aims and goals. I am neither a guru nor a very hard worker but I am still making a reasonable amount to live a good life. I came to a conclusions that it is much better to have one blog rather than dozens of them. One successful blog can earn us money which hundreds of them can't.

  • Internet marketing is so big and so vast. It is not limited to blogs and sites only. It is beyond the scope now. I know people promoting their blogs and sites with earning anything but spending a lot. On the other hand there are people with lesser efforts and good revenue. I think it depends on all our efforts and our ambitions. If we can work harder, we can earn more than our expectations.

  • To be honest, it is not worth $47 to get that ebook. All those information can be found anywhere in Google search engine. There are so many ebooks telling you the same stuff. Everything can be found free.

  • @Kai Lo: To be honest, if you have not read it you wouldn't be in a position to say if it's not worth the $47. You are just making a presumption that every ebook is the same. Even playing the devils advocate and saying that it is found free, the whole compiling and putting it in one ebook takes months of effort to piece it together just by the size of the book itself.
  • it seems like its a good ebook but there so many books out there claiming the same thing but paraphrased in their own words or just a couple words rearranged i don't know how it is with this ebook but if its different i would definitely consider buying it

  • I never believed in quick money. Although I heard some people had success with filling forms, participating in surveys, referrals etc. but nothing worked for me. After loosing a good amount of money and time on it, I finally decided to do freelancing.
