A Neat Trick To Twitter Tweet Your Blog

home business blog
If you are using Twitter for your work from home business, you probably belong to 2 categories of bloggers. The first one opens up to many people following others as they follow you and tweet just about anything under the sun. The second group using Twitter is involved for a shorter time but use it for Internet Home Business Networking and not social purposes. Whichever group you belong to, how about learning a neat trick to use on your Twitter account?

The Basics:

What is Twitter

OK, let’s get it started, but just before that and so as to make some sense of what Twitter is all about for those not in the know, you should read up the following so as to get yourself up to speed:

How To Use Twitter-Tips for Bloggers

The Intermediate:

Tweet My Blog Plugin

This page tells you everything you need to know about this excellent plugin and can be summarized as:

  • Combine the power of Twitter and Wordpress to create viral traffic to your blog
  • Automate your new blog posts to update your Twitter page
  • Grow your home business blog traffic exponentially
  • Generate an Income Stream-link contains your unique affiliate ID

Read up a post ‘I’ve Just Added The Tweet My Blog Plugin‘ from my good friend Sire of WassupBlog.

The Advanced:

A Neat Trick for home business blog

twitterFor those of you who are not yet following me on Twitter you can easily do so by clicking this link, and for other bloggers who for any reasons have yet to join, where have you been this is a good time as any to do so as Twitter is a great way to let your followers know what you are doing besides getting more traffic to your blog.

Here’s the deal. Your Twitter plugin allows configuration to a maximum of 20 tweets. You could use it to start a “sidenotes” section at your sidebar along with the twitter feed text. I’ve made a screenshot of mine so you can have an idea. Simply go to your Twitter page and type your text and it will automatically show on your blog sidebar. It’s that simple. Doesn’t this make Twitter more interesting?

What to put on your sidenotes:

  • your blog posts that are not so visible to your readers e.g. those you liked but didn’t make it to your popular posts.
  • blog promotions, special offers, seasonal ads, contests
  • news headlines
  • your rants, any digression

Tip: Make your text as short as possible using TinyUrl. This way it stands out and looks more appealing while not interfering with your blog theme’s codes.

  • Hi Peter. Just so you know the plugin works fine as I got your tweet which is probably why I am the first one to comment. Looks like it is a great way to keep track of your favorite bloggers.

  • Hey Sire, that is so cooooool! but this means you have to login to Twitter and view people's tweets unless you install a tweet notifier plugin, is that right?

  • Not at all, all you need, if you use FireFox is the TwitterFox plugin
  • Excellent stuff that I will surely use once my addiction starts.

I haven't installed any such plugins yet, as I don't want JUST posts being tweeted...once I start I will though. ;)

  • @Simon: Hey Simon, I went to check this out with Sire who is into this. Unless people are using this plugin or another that does the same thing, the only way you will know if they do a new post via Twitter is if they Tweet it manually. If you use firefox it’s not necessary to login to your twiiter page as all you need is the TwitterFox plugin and you get instant notification.

Work At Home Ideas and Opportunities
  • Hi Peter,

I am already using Twitter, but I have found a problem after the 2000 people I am following, seems I cannot follow my new followers. Did you know if there is a cap to a maximum people to follow. I currently have 1260 followers, maybe its the ratio, I dont know if I need more followers in order to be able to follow my new followers.

Any help will be truly welcome.

BTW, dont you have a way to "subscribe to comments" in this post?

    Luis
  • Hi Luis,
Yes I know there is a cap of 2000 and you cannot follow more than this. I know of one other blogger Balkhis who had similar problem http://www.balkhis.com/tag/twitter/ and he started having problems after following 1700 people and he had to delete his account and restart a new one. You can read the post to find out more.
