If you are using Twitter for your work from home business, you probably belong to 2 categories of bloggers. The first one opens up to many people following others as they follow you and tweet just about anything under the sun. The second group using Twitter is involved for a shorter time but use it for Internet Home Business Networking and not social purposes. Whichever group you belong to, how about learning a neat trick to use on your Twitter account?

The Basics:

What is Twitter

OK, let’s get it started, but just before that and so as to make some sense of what Twitter is all about for those not in the know, you should read up the following so as to get yourself up to speed:

The Intermediate:

A Neat Trick for home business blog

twitterFor those of you who are not yet following me on Twitter you can easily do so by clicking this link, and for other bloggers who for any reasons have yet to join, where have you been this is a good time as any to do so as Twitter is a great way to let your followers know what you are doing besides getting more traffic to your blog.

Here’s the deal. Your Twitter plugin allows configuration to a maximum of 20 tweets. You could use it to start a “sidenotes” section at your sidebar along with the twitter feed text. I’ve made a screenshot of mine so you can have an idea. Simply go to your Twitter page and type your text and it will automatically show on your blog sidebar. It’s that simple. Doesn’t this make Twitter more interesting?

What to put on your sidenotes:

  • your blog posts that are not so visible to your readers e.g. those you liked but didn’t make it to your popular posts.
  • blog promotions, special offers, seasonal ads, contests
  • news headlines
  • your rants, any digression

Tip: Make your text as short as possible using TinyUrl. This way it stands out and looks more appealing while not interfering with your blog theme’s codes.
