This is probably the easiest trick, if you wish to call it that, to get unique contents in the eyes of Google posted on your home business blog in just 5 minutes. Yeah call it my Halloween “trick n treat” candy for you if you will.

In my treat for you, I’m going to show a real live case(ok not live but about 20 hrs delayed) how I published a post on my affiliate marketing blog http://www.ereviewer.net in just 5 minutes and another few more minutes for Google to index it.

1. My Objective

To quickly search for someone else’s published post and republish it as a unique content on my own blog. (Don’t worry it’s all legitimately done)

2.Who will most likely benefit from doing this?

1. those who re-publish other blogger’s work either because you like the content or you do this to grow content on your own blog
2. those who use PLR articles for their blogs
3. autobloggers, content spinners
4. those who like free content but have problems indexing such content because such duplicate contents, although you won’t get penalized, often don’t get indexed. Even if they do get indexed it’s usually relegated to Google’s supplementary index and that won’t help in your search engine ranking.

Ok, my demo begins…

1. Go to Google and search for “learn affiliate marketing republish“. I do this because “learn affiliate marketing” is my main keyword phrase for my affiliate marketing blog. I added the word “republish” because I follow good ethics and republish articles only if the author or article directory specifically allows free publications.

I found one article found in an article directory that allows republication:

**for best results, choose a post that has been Google indexed and is quite highly ranked, but I guess you would have figured it out already:-) **

2. Next I copy the whole article text and paste it onto my ‘wp-admin/add new post’. Scroll down to find the ‘wpUnique’ section and under ‘Uniquefy Mode’ put ‘Truly Unique’ and ‘Uniquefy this post’ as ‘Yes’ like this:

Then put in the usual tags, category, snippet etc like you usually do and then hit Publish’. That’s it you’re done! Yeah in less than 5 minutes  I might add. (note: you must upload the wpunique plugin before you can see the Uniquefy section on your wp-admin page. Also don’t forget to link a couple of keywords to your money making websites like or home business blog I did)

3. Finally to check that my newly published post has been indexed by Google, I go to site:www.ereviewer.net and after about 2 minutes later found it indexed. Here’s the result (I changed the title for demo purpose but when you do this it’s better to keep the title ‘as is’ to respect the author’s post)

and my republished post url is this: http://www.ereviewer.net/learn-affiliate-marketing-tips

Hey even Google has placed its trust on my republished post as I also received a ‘Google Alert’ email at the same time. The mail just shows that it has been indexed and published and sent to many others who have similarly subscribed to ‘Google Alert’ notification service:

How does WPUnique plugin make a duplicate post unique?

I’ll probably spare you the technical details or you can check more of that from the plugin owner website (Steve Pullman). But essentially this is how it does. It creates unique content from what everyone generally calls it  “duplicate content” and this tool merely uses html encoding to cause the search engines to look at your blog post as unique content. This way your republished post gets placed ahead of others using that same content.  Steve adds:  “all we’re doing is converting the source code from ascii text to legitimate html codes.” Sounds simple!

The thing about Duplicate Content

The topic probably has been debated and argued umpteen times in Internet Marketing forums and other places but let’s add one more to it. You’ve long heard of the “Duplicate Content Penalty”? Here’s what everyone knows after all these discussions: It doesn’t exist


If you’re re-using content that is found on another website: The DUPLICATE CONTENT PENALTY DOES NOT APPLY i.e you won’t get into trouble with Google. You will however get into trouble with the author if he did not expressly given anyone permission the right to use his article. That’s plagiarism (hence my checking for this permission in my demo here)

What will Google do if you used other people’s content

Well if you used and publish duplicate contents, your content will most probably end up in Google’s supplemental index. Yeah call it a Google’s cold shoulder treatment, being online ostracised or anything you want, you wont get much benefit being here.  Aaron Wall has this to say about Google’s Supplemental Result:

“Since supplemental results are not trusted much and rarely rank they are not crawled often either. Since they are generally not trusted much and rarely crawled odds are pretty good that links from supplemental pages likely do not pull much – if any – weight in Google. ..”

Final Thoughts

This wpunique plugin is not free but costs just $37 and the version 2 is just out. I used this plugin because lately I have created many niche blogs and this plugin is taking away some of the hard work that I used to do before -updating blog contents.

Writing the contents manually is still the best if you can afford the time and I have to agree that when you write it yourself you can optimize the post much better. But for niche bloggers like myself, this is the perfect tool that helps me automate some of the work and I feel good knowing that this is as legitimate as it gets and helps me rank too.

The topic of duplicate content is a highly debated one with my many bloggers. Well late last year, Google hosted its third Online Webmaster Chat and revealed among other things “Google Does Not Penalize Duplicate Contents“.

Now this ought to put an end to your questions, worries, fears and you now can start to use duplicate contents to your heart’s content. But is this new Google revelation as simple as it sounds? Why do I get this feeling it’s a start to more questions, anger, myths, uncertainties brought about by Google?

What is Duplicate Content?

Duplicate content exists when you have more than one version of the same article or post on your site or you used the same article to submit to numerous article directories.

Google’s No Penalty – Truth, Lies, or Total BS?

Any Difference between a Google Penalty and Google Ban?

Some of us relate to a “Google Penalty” as something serious, like a Google Ban on your site. But there is actually a distinction between a Google Ban vs Google Penalty. A site which is penalized may not necessary be banned. It just means that this penalized site now does not rank for their own keywords. On the other hand if your site gets banned, that’s more serious as your site is no longer indexed by Google.

What some of my friends have said about Google’s “We don’t penalize duplicate contents” infamous statement.

1. “The respondent said, “…none of the search engines penalize duplicate content — they just ignore the duplicates,” which to me means the same thing, different words.We call it “penalize.” They call it “ignore.” The result is the same – no credit for “duplicate” content. (GT Bulmer)

2. You could have exact same copies of an article all over the net. Yes, maybe only one article will show up in a search. But… a different article (exact same version) could show up for a completely different searched keyword phrase.

Ignored? To a point. I guess it depends how you look at it. I honestly don’t take the time to create different versions of the same article. Too time consuming. I change my anchor text link in the resource box for a different keyword, that’s about it. If I don’t get credit for those backlinks… oh well. (Alan Mater)

3. I have another blog that I do absolutely nothing with and it is filled with duplicate content. Actually 90% of the post are duplicate content and in 3 months with almost no visitors it now has a PR of 1. That link I just posted might be the only backlink the blog has on the internet. If it was being ignored due to duplicate content it wouldn’t have any rank, but it does?

That leaves us with exactly what we started with, nothing. My belief is, no one knows how Google ticks not even Google employees.(Stephen Meyer)

4. Search Engine want to provide useful information to user, they don’t want to show the same result all on the top 10 list, this will not add value to the user.

- So they start to filter out “similar” content, and only 1 “similar” content will show.
- Which “similar” content to show with be decided by the back links of that page, so if your page rank and back links is high, even you have duplicate content, your page still shows!(KKChoon)

5.  Usually Google will index multiple versions of the same content however it will only rank one version, the site which has the most trust. So if you submit an article to a whole bunch of article directories including EzineArticles, it will usually be the one on EzineArticles which ranks well as it is the most trusted article directory.(Mike Law)

The most significant thing I did during this “We don’t penalize duplicate content” discussion

I started a new WordPress blog and used articles that I submitted to EzineArticles. This blog is now PR1 after the last update just after 1 month. You could say they are duplicate contents but I could say it’s not entirely so since they are not found on the same site and I made it somewhat unique in some small ways. I made one significant change to rewrite the first and last paragraphs and have the post title changed. This new WordPress blog is started solely for my link building strategy, not traffic building. Well I guess the real test would be to see if it goes to PR2 in the next PR update.

Can Original Content Beat Duplicate, Rehashed Content?

“Content is King”. So this is what we’ve been told, schooled from the day we decided to venture into an online business opportunity not too long ago. It’s also associated with writing unique and original contents on your work at home blog. To think that people are using rehashed or duplicate content on their blogs, that’s something quite unheard of in the early days of blogging. But this seems quite the usual practice now. It’s also pissing given people who only write original content something to think about….seriously like Garry Conn who said:

I write a lot of posts on my blog and I know for a fact that a lot of people read what I write. I see many other blogs who write (rehash) things that have been covered countless times over the last three and even four years and they get pretty decent reactions out of it.  What I write is pretty darn unique and original (at least I think so) but I never seem to get the reaction I desire. (Something is missing… what I don’t know).

Could this be a new way of finding success in blogging? Perhaps it’s the reason why I see many bloggers turning to using duplicate contents from an automated blogging software or plugin. Is this called blogging smart and not blogging hard. Is this going to be an accepted way of gaming the system. I’m not sure, what do you think?

I remember very clearly getting Google Index for my first website when I was an undisputed complete newbie proved disastrous. That was more than a year ago but that pain still etched in my mind till today. It took me 2 weeks then to get my first website indexed by Google. Four months later I fared better when I had my first WordPress blog. I got Google Index after 3 days. Yesterday I set up a new WordPress blog and I took 3 hours before getting Google’s blessing.
