By now this home business blog has published a total of 237 blog posts, excluding guest posts, over a period of 3 years and 8 months. Over the last few months, it dawn upon me that as this blog matures with more contents, it becomes increasingly difficult to communicate any important updates to all readers. Today I thought of a good way – through my blog’s backlink newsletter.

Why My Backlink Newsletter?

Well that’s because backlink building is preached and practiced by anyone and everyone who relies on a website or blog to market their online business opportunities. Well now with my newest idea to reach out to my current mailing list and new subscribers, I intend to provide more information in this newsletter in addition to my blog posts that I published. It’s taking small steps towards earning passive income in the near future for you.

What my Backlink Builder Newsletter will contain:

1. Those who subscribed to this newsletter will get instant 10 .edu Backlinks.

2. Subsequent newsletters will contain interesting backlink building techniques and tips that I personally endorsed and used to boost many of my 26 websites and blogs to Google’s Page 1.

3. In every issue of my newsletter, I will reveal one high page rank website (possibly PR5-PR8) and provide url and some accompanying notes to help sign-up. My gift to those who have given me so much support.

4. The newsletter will be a one-pager (see below) as I know how busy people are. It also makes it easy for me to write as I have a busy schedule too.

5. I will use this newsletter also as a channel to inform my subscribers of any important changes (made by Google) that they should know.

6. I will not bombard you with frequent newsletters but you can expect at least 1 newsletter every week. If this becomes difficult I will update this post and will also advise the frequency change in the published newsletters.
Well if you’ve read my ‘About Page’, I am dedicating some time this year to teaching Adsense and sharing my Internet Marketing experience with anyone interested. I figured some of this training information relating to backlink building can also be shared with my blog subscribers, if they are interested. However personally I think face-to-face teaching is a lot more effective. Take a look at a recent training in session that I conduct.

Special Invite To Internet Marketers Living In Singapore

You are invited to attend my Free Adsense Workshop that I conduct regularly in my office, such as the one shown in the picture. Contact me for more details.

You may already know by now that Google made a big Algorithm change last month. I didn’t realize how severe this change had been until I kept reading new posts on the same subject from the blogging fraternity. It’s also the first time I’ve seen Google openly announced an algorithm change so publicly and fiercely if I might add too. Here is what is said from Official Google Blog:

This update is designed to reduce rankings for low-quality sites-sites which are low-value add for users, copy content from other websites or sites that are just not very useful. At the same time, it will provide better rankings for high-quality sites-sites with original content and information such as research, in-depth reports, thoughtful analysis and so on.

What’s The Impact:

This change is impacting about 12% of search results, so many people have been greatly hit by this search algorithm change by Google.

Niche sites have been hit most simply because many people have been exploiting the relatively easy opportunity to earn quick money online this way. Even the recent Google May Day debacle did little to keep them away from going the easy route including creating MFA (Made for Adsense) sites at their own risks. Even if their sites were not specifically MFA, they still resorted to using clever softwares e.g. auto blogging software that could scrap content easily from other websites.

Google was targeting sites that are low quality and specifically those that do not add value for people. Some article directories fall into this category although interestingly with different magnitude. Even Ezinearticles took a hit although not as much as others. On the other hand I cannot understand why Hubpages took a very big hit from this algorithm change since it only accepts unique content before approving these pages. But as of now, duplicate content is still not penalized so long as they are not found on the same site.

Has the new Google Algorithm affected my 20+ niche websites?

No it has not and that is a relief. I can only say many of my niche sites’ keyword ranking remains the same because I preferred to focus on writing quality contents on my niche sites. I avoided any black hat techniques as I like my visitors to have a feel good experience when they land on my sites, even if they are a small niche site. So it pays to have unique content sites with good, useful information and it just reaffirms what Google looks for in a good website.

I did have a couple of WordPress blogs that are run completely on auto-pilot but not using the much Google loathed auto-blogging plugin. I used the WordPress plugin called UniqueArticleWizard, to publish free unique articles. I would say Google does not mind this because they are as legitimate as can be as I link back to the author of these articles. It would be kind of like guest posting on my blog.

Well let me know if you were affected by the Google Search Algorithm change in anyway. It just means that Google can be tough if it felt there was a need to make big changes even if it incurs the wrath of thousands of bloggers who are always thinking of clever and faster way to learn how to make money blogging.

// ]]>

My first Authority Website that I started on Dec 31, 2010 now gets constant traffic and earns its first adsense click albeit only 81 cents after 2 weeks. But I am thrilled to say the least. Why?

Well here’s 5 reasons why before I go into a little more detail….

Because:

it is not ranking in any specific keywords in Google (yet) so where did the traffic come from you might ask?

my belief in John XFactor takes me to another level of success. Success has many steps and this is just the first step that clearly tells me that his Authority Site Adsense Guide works.

I took actions 15 months ago when I started building micro niche adsense sites.

I can now prove to people that the best thing I have learned from XFactor about starting an authority site is – that you do not need to focus too much on specific keywords for your website.

building an authority website is a worthwhile investment of time and little money.

How Much is my traffic

Since a week ago I am getting about 5 – 10 impressions a day when I see in my adsense admin. That to some people do not mean too much but for me I look beyond the figures. I look at consistency and it’s daily impressions that I am getting for a new site that has only 8 pages. Authority site that is not even ranking in Google. So imagine when it has 80 pages, 800 pages – now that’s the big picture.

Where does the traffic come from?

Well that’s a good question too considering that most people (like I was) put off launching an authority website because they think they don’t stand a chance with all those well established players in their niche.

My traffic does not come from just one or two keyword or keyword phrases. Like they figured it out, I don’t stand a chance.

My traffic comes from……hundreds of keyword phrases but I don’t lose hair over backlinking and other conventional methods of getting each of these hundreds of keywords ranked. That would be an insurmountable feat to accomplish. The secret? I just write very long articles. Read up my last post titled : First Authority Website Launched|Enter Web Content Studio and you will know what I mean.

Now I don’t write long articles for the sake of making it lengthy. Foolhardy that would be. It’s just that I ensure each of my authority website article has all the keyword phrases that all the top 10 websites for my niche has – yes all of their web pages.

Writing Themed Articles Works

My method of writing themed content articles that I learned from Dr Andy Williams is working very well. When you theme a page this automatically “optimizes” the page for long tail phrases. The reason I got interested in this technique is because Andy revealed why it has to work….because Google relies on it in their algorithms and here is the proof that you can read it too. Andy did extensive research on this subject and discovered that all the pages in the first page of Google for any keyword have a core group of words on the page. Obviously Google is silent on this but it just means that its algorithm in ranking requires a website to contain Latent Semamtic Indexing but Andy calls it “theming”.

He tells us that one of the clearest signs that he believes Google uses LSI or theming in ranking a website is that in many of our searches in Google for a particular keyword, Google shows that this keyword has millions of such pages. Yet when you actually scroll down to the last page it is usually much lesser. He tested for one keyword phrase “blood sugar spike” which Google knows about 48 million pages but only recognized 500 pages. His conclusion. Google could only find 500 pages that meet the LSI or themed keyword criteria it expects to see. The rest of the 48 million pages – well they most likely go to their supplementary index. Take a look at the image below and you will understand better:

Well coming back to my own Authority Website:

So far I have written only themed content articles of about 8 pages over 5 silo’ed categories and they are all long articles of more than 1000 pages each. All these articles use keyword phrases ranging from 1, 2, 3 and 4 keywords and each article contains at least 50 different keyword phrases belonging to the top 10 websites that Google ranks on its page one.

So when I get the traffic coming to visit my website, I do not know which particular keyword phrase brings it here, nor do I care. I could if I wanted to by installing Google Analytics but chose not to as I am too busy to over-analyse these things so long as I get the traffic.

Well you don’t have to buy the Web Content Studio if it does not serve your purpose at the moment. However for the time being you could just give it some thought and write themed word articles knowing that Google uses it to rank your website. Food for thought!

Did you enjoy this post?
Happy New Year 2011!! Here’s wishing everyone the best in your Internet Marketing and other online business opportunities lots of success. Beware long article!

Today Dec 31, 2010 is definitely a good day as it marked the day I launched my first Authority website. Yep, finally after a month of deliberating and doing some research as to how I should do this, I bought the necessary tools and blueprint, and I have today published my website and 4 “authority” pages.

The tools I used for Authority Website:

Xfactor’s ‘The Authority Site Adsense Guide’

Dr Andy Williams’ Web Content Studio

Part II of my Adsense journey Begins

For those of you who remembered about 15 months ago I started my adsense journey and bought myself the now famous Micro Niche Adsense Course from XFactor as well as XsitePro, a powerful web building software and launched more than 20 niche sites during this time.

Well guess what…looks like history is about to repeat itself. Part II of my adsense journey begins officially today and I’m turning 3 of these niche sites into authority websites as well as adding a brand new health niche authority website. I’m still following XFactor (John)’s method only this time he just released his latest blueprint for ‘Advanced Adsense Publisher Guide to Making More Money With less sites‘. That’s perfect for me as I’ve recently stopped adding more niche sites and a few months ago already had thoughts of making a few of my sites to authority sites. I guessed John must have read my mind.

Why Authority Websites?

I’ll be perfectly honest with you. For a long time I was living under a misconception of what an authority website really is and who is fit to create one. I once thought that only the “big guns” or the more established marketers should be the ones since they already have the “authority tag” accorded to them. Not quite really as I found out recently.

Now I know an authority website need not be another CNN or Yahoo News nor must it be the most beautifully designed site. In short you and I could well launch an authority website within the next 1 week – if we wanted to that is. I’ve experienced some success in building niche sites and now building a few authority sites is just putting that icing on the cake. I called it a natural progression. It’s also called focusing on the long term, creating passive income and generally working towards making more money online only this time using few sites

Some Information about XFactor’s Authority Site Adsense Guide

It would be impossible to give a meaningful review of this advanced adsense blueprint without giving away all his techniques and that would be unethical so I won’t even go near there. So if whatever little information I could share with you may seem somewhat hard to comprehend, please excuse me and you would know why this is so.

It’s a very comprehensive book and John goes into great length to make his 217 pages book so easy to understand. It’s not an extension of his earlier book which I bought 15 months ago; it’s his second book. There are many tips that he gave but to me the most important thing I learned from him was how he makes creating authority websites so simple. He made it look simple because he teaches how to theme our articles as a part of his technique. He uses Web Content Studio to help find all the theme words for any articles we plan to write, articles that Google loves.

If you do not know what “theming an article is”, think LSI and long tail keywords to give you an idea. It’s also about how it will get you lots of traffic even if the keywords are highly competitive. So if you’ve been trained to believe you should only do keyword research and focusing on choosing keywords that have more traffic and less competition, that’s old school and a lot more difficult to do, I might add since everyone does that. With theming, it’s about less traffic as far as all the keyword tools tell you, insane competition but you still get lots of traffic all the same. It sounds a little hard to understand but the ebook will go into every great detail. It’s worth the $39 I paid for (first timer to his course pays $97).

I have just learned the proper way of ”siloing” my sites and that is not only good site structure for easy navigation on your site by your visitors, I’ve learned long ago it’s good for SEO too. Well that’s just a small part of what his Adsense Guilde teaches, the same techniques he uses to now make over $1000 per day.

How I Use Web Content Studio To Write Articles For My Authority Sites

This strategy is simple yet very powerful. When I first read about it, naturally I was simply amazed at this technique. I was hoping I could save some money not buying the tool and tried to do the work manually. The result – it’s too tedious and time consuming and at the end left me frustrated because I couldn’t check how well or badly I had done the “theming” process myself. And I can’t possibly do this for every article that I write. Well enter Dr Andy Williams’ Web Content Studio that cuts down 3 hours of research work to a mere few minutes. I relented, paid for this tool and now think this is the best tool I’ve ever come across.

With theme keywords strategy,I write my article relatively long – about 1000 words but with this tool, it’s really quite easy but you just follow a “process”.

What is Web Content Studio?

It contains a set of tools in a suite all under one big software application. This explains the name “studio” and all the tools are located on conveniently placed tabs that you can click to easily go to. So you have a scratchpad that has an auto “grabber” feature that copies whatever research work you choose from any website that you conveniently placed in your “bookmarks”, another tab in this software suite. Other tabs include ‘Editor”, ‘Researcher’, ‘Keywords’ and ‘Notes’.

These tools are cleverly thought of by Dr Andy Williams to help you research the keywords that Google expect from authority sites whenever you write your contents. So if you are planning to write an article on say “affiliate marketing”, this tool will query Google for the phrase “affiliate marketing”, and visit all the relevant pages listed at the top 10 (you select how many) sites and extract for you all the theme words like “affiliate”, “network”, “advertising”, “commission:, “merchant” and theme phrases like “contextual advertising”, “revenue sharing”, “cost per action”, “compensation methods” used by these top 10 sites Google ranked.

Once you have these keywords presented in a report (again all shown in this “Studio”) the objective is to write your article (Editor tab) that includes all these theme words and theme phrases. How many and what words you used are really up to you (you just put a ’tick’ on these words) but in the manual that comes with your purchase of Web Content Studio, Andy explains and provides suggestions based on not just his theory but showing you his real live cases and the results achieved. The result is that you will learn just what it takes to write your best article with these theme words and phrases that Google expects to see.

Here is a quick summary of the process flow when I write each of my well themed articles (in WCS):

1. Create a blank article page
2. Do keyword research.
3. Clean the list using the compare against top 10 so you only get the most popular words in your final list of theme words.
4. Write your article.
5. Check theme of article.

There are quite a few videos that Andy provides to make you understand completely how to do it but I’ll just let you see one video on using the keyword spider to find the most important theme words:

http://webcontentstudio.com/
tutorials/web-content-studio-
tutorial-keyword-spider/

Is Web Content Studio for you?

I guess only you will have the answer. For me, because I write articles everyday either researching for my clients when writing their articles or I write for my top niche sites especially the 3 sites that I decided to make them authority sites. This software is saving me lots of tedious time in my article research. The best part of using this tool for me is that I actually look forward to the next article that I write. I have to say both this and writing 1000 word articles 2 weeks ago would have been an insane thought.

Check out Dr. Andy William’s Web Content Studio to find out more about this powerful tool that makes writing articles your second nature.

You probably can find millions of articles or blog posts written on “how to get instant free traffic”. But not quite what I’m going to show you how I do it – because I’ve not seen it published elsewhere by anyone.

Did I get your undivided attention?

To say that anyone can do it just after reading this post would be like taking you for a ride. No, not everyone under any circumstances will be able to do so. It has a few conditions that you must fulfill which I will explain. Still I’m sure there will be many people who meet the few conditions and who will be able to just get it started instantly after learning it.

Here goes….

The tools:

1. Micro Niche Finder

2. SpyFu

The Conditions:

1. Your website must be ranking in the top 3 spots in Google

2. Your site is a static (html) site

3. It’s a small niche

4. You have adsense on your website

Here’s how I do it….

1. I simply go to my Micro Niche Finder and search for new keywords that relate to and complement my site and specifically look for high paying keywords (>$5). I just love this tool as it displays (yes quite invitingly too) the cost per click for each keyword phrase that I type in, along with other information. For this purpose I do not care much whether the new keyword phrase has a lot of competition – it really does not matter.

2. Then it’s time to go to SpyFu and type in this chosen keyword and confirm the value of the CPC – it should be very close to what you got from MNF.

3. Then write your content using this keyword phrase and ensure that you put a link to your new post on your homepage.

My thoughts:

I never get tired of using this method because the Micro Niche Finder makes it so easy to look for these high paying keywords. There is work involved in writing your content. But then again aren’t you already doing that when you are building contents on your website? There is therefore no additional work but you’re just doing it a lot differently like trying to rank in top search engine ranking to generate the traffic. Yeah like everyone else.

Why do I say in this method you get instant traffic? Well because by virtue of your top 3 position (see condition #1), you are already receiving decent traffic. All I have to do now is divert some of this traffic to my new pages I’ve created and so far it has worked well for me. Experience has shown that even if you’re on Google’s #4 position you hardly get many clicks as most of them go to the top 3 sites: #1 – 40%, #2 – 22%, #3 – 9%

Why it works better in static site (using XsitePro2)- well that’s just my personal experience but you may have different opinion about this. Also with static sites, I have lesser distractions and can lead the traffic directly to the new pages I just set up. In fact many successful marketers can possibly write an ebook about using clever strategies of color, navigation and site structure to channel the traffic to wherever they want it to go next.

The key is in choosing the keyword phrases. This time, it’s no longer the usual ‘choose keyword with high searches and low competition’ that you always hear anymore. It’s more like ‘choose keyword that you think many people would use to search in the search engines’. This is not cast in stone but use a little common sense and imagine you are the one searching for the main keywords and finally landing on a website. Then just ask the question, “what else can this site offer me”. If you are able to answer this question, then that means that you have just provided an answer or a solution to the visitor. If you incorporate this thought provoking process each time you think of what new pages to create on your website, you will see an improvement in your CTR.

Did you enjoy this post? If yes, why not subscribe to my RSS feed or get it via Email. That way you’ll never miss out on new blog posts.

» Inline Ad Purchase: Intext Link

As you know in Oct I broke the duck in my Adsense earnings by finally passing my $10 per day earnings I had set as my second goal. Well the third goal is to reach a monthly Adsence income of $1000 and Nov’s adsense results shows I’ve made good progress to achieve this target. My Nov adsense income from my niche sites was $616, an increase of 28 percent over last month.

Adsense Income Statistics

Nov $616
Oct $444
Sep $260
Aug $224
Jul $268

My Secret Tool Revealed-Adsense Crusher Template

Actually I had wanted to reveal this “secret” i.e the WordPress template I have been using, in my last Adsense update “Google Adsense-Here’s How You Can Achieve 70 pct Increase Too“. But I couldn’t do so because Gabriel the WP template creator had not set up the affiliate program then. Well the good news is that he just did and here is the Adsense Crusher WordPress template (this is an affiliate link) that helped me so much to reach my previous target and will continue to help achieve my next target of $1000 per month.

What you can expect when you used the Slick Crusher WP Template

1. It’s specially created to get you exceptionally high CTR to maximize Adsense earnings. The theme is the main ingredient for having a high CTR.

2. It’s SEO optmized

3. If there is anything you need to modify the theme, Gabriel does that for you too at your request, free! So you’re not just buying a theme but a lifelong service.

4. It allows you one set of images for all your posts or you can set up different images for any post you want and have default images for all the rest. You’ll be taught how simple it is to do this. (for me I put on every post 4 115X115 pictures at the top with keywords in the image alt text)

5. In Theme admin, you can select to show excerpts not the full posts in homepage and category pages

6. The color scheme is easily customizable in the theme admin.

7. An adsense guide which covers the theme installation is provided for you to follow. WordPress is extremely easy to use even if you are just starting out and have never done it before. In the guide you are given Gabriel’s personal email if you run into problems setting everything up so don’t be afraid to use it. (I’ve used it and trust me he is there for you)

8. When you purchase you get 2 Ebook guides (SEO strategies and theme install walk-through) + Slick WordPress theme plus a bonus marketing software Gabriel built that you can use to ping a list of your pages to about 130 sites.

9. The Adsense crusher system comes with white hat marketing & backlink strategies all explained in the ebook.

10. Included in the course are 3 main traffic and backlink strategies. You will learn to deconstruct effectively what your competitors have done right; how Gabriel uses web 2.0 properties to increase Google love and increase traffic etc

A Peek At The High CTR WP-Theme

** If you are serious about purchasing, email me and I can provide you a real life blog with this theme.

My Thoughts

If you are searching for a magic pill or a quick “put money in my bank tomorrow” kind of method in adsense, this isn’t the one for you. This is just a tool that has been developed, tested to give you very high CTR, one of 2 things that will increase your adsense income, the other being traffic.

You will still have to bring in the traffic yourself though so you will have to think about the quality of your contents on your blog and the backlinking strategies you currently follow.

How fast you can get to a $20 dollar or $50 day depends very much on your own effort and time but this Adsense Crusher system and WP Theme can help you expedite this time.

My niche site I created in Blogger just over 2 months ago is now ranked No. 1 in Google. To be honest, I never thought I would see this day as my setting up any sites in Blogger is intended for only one thing – link building. But I’m not complaining.

Many of us probably used Blogger or any web 2.0 websites for only one purpose – link building to boost the search engine rankings of any of our money making websites or make money blogging blogs. Well hopefully this post gives you some food for thought and perhaps you may have a different perspective or objective when you create your next blog in Blogger.

How did I start this niche in Blogger?

All my niche sites’ domains are self-hosted and I’ve never ever used Blogger or any free sites other than for link building purposes, so ranking it to no. 1 or Google’s’ page one is never in my mind. This is my very first niche site created in Blogger. One of my niche sites was ranked no. 5 in Google and I wanted to push it up to no. 1 so I thought having a similar niche site created in Blogger may help.

All my niche sites are using exact name domains as my main keyword phrase, so I was lucky to have also found the exact name in Blogger as well. Here’s all the information you will find useful:

Niche Site in Blogger (what I did in chronological sequence)

1. Sep 8 - created niche site in Blogger with one post for the homepage. No links on the page but put adsense (it’s a strategy I learned and it worked)

2. Sep 9 – Google has indexed my blog (very much because of #1 strategy)

3. Sep 20 – published second post on the blog

4. Sep 29 – published third post on the blog

5. Sep 30 – I noted that the Sep 29 post has been indexed by Google. Now I start to update my 3 posts with 2 links on each post point to my niche site which has the same domain name as this blog name.

6. Nov 20 – Found site on Google’s page 2, #20 . Published 4th post and decided to put some life into the blog. Added 2 more adsense ads (1 block 336X280 and link unit468X15) and included one image with keyword in alt-text at the end of each post. Change header and ensure matching links color with adsense. That’s it.

7. Nov 21 (6.30 a.m) – Wanted to check if latest post was indexed but found much more than that. Found site on Google’s page 1, #1. Yeah and it outranked my other owned niche site now currently at #3, can you believe that? Almost side by site. It looks a little strange – yes interestingly strange but absolutely wonderful. haha!

My Thoughts

1. Well whether the site will continue to remain at the no. 1 position, only time will tell (still no. 1 after 9 hrs so far at time of writing this post UPDATE: DEC 9 STILL @NO.1 IN GOOGLE) but that’s not too important. I still maintain that I will use Blogger more for link building and if any of these sites get good ranking in Google, it’s just a bonus.

2. Looks like I’ve completely missed out on using Blogger to my advantage for all my 21 niche sites. I ought to create a few more blogs in Blogger and hopefully I can find exact names as well. Anyway it’s going to be useful for any link wheel I may intend to selectively do for a few of my niche sites in the near future.

3. Gaining Google’s trust is so important when you start to build a new site. So in this niche site, my strategy not to show any links on my homepage before getting Google indexed worked because the big G dislikes people who creates blogger blogs solely for link building. In fact a few years ago I’ve had one or 2 general blogger blogs deleted because I failed to realize this importance or give due respect to G. With Google you can’t just be goody two shoes, you have to be genuinely good period.

4. The importance of using exact name domain is proven yet again here and all my 21 niche sites followed this selection criteria during the keyword research and domain selection.

5. You don’t need many backlinks to get to Google’s no. 1 position as there are many other factors that are very important too as this case shows. I just checked Yahoo Site Explorer and it shows this blogger blog has only 7 backlinks mostly from my squidoo lenses.

6. Niche Keyword Research Info:

Broad Search-Global Search Count=14800 per month

Did you enjoy this post? If you’re a regular visitor to my blog, you would have been updated regularly on the progress of my niche blogging since I launched my very first niche site. It’s a new and perhaps a long journey as I embarked some 14 months ago and it is interesting to note that the passion and excitement are all still there to keep me going further.

Well this post sort of marks my achievement of the second goal I had set for myself (the first being to surpass the $100 adsense per month needed to get the monthly check from Google). The second goal I had set for myself was achieving a daily adsense income of $10 per day. Not something to shout about for most adsense gurus I know, but for me it has taken a whole 14 months to ‘break the duck’. So I’m experiencing a mixed feeling of relief, ‘wow’, ‘almost lost belief in myself’ all rolled into one. Last month (Oct) my adsense income was close to $450 which averages out to about $15 per day.

Adsense Income Statistics Never Lie

Oct $444

Sep $260

Aug $224

Jul $268

You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to tell that Oct appears like the month that something fantastic must have happened since it registered a 70 percent increase from Sep and all the previous months never once crossed $300 before. So what happened and what broke the duck.

There is nothing secret but….

I focused on just 3 websites that were making the most money and plan out just one key strategy that I learned from Lisa Parmley. From what I learned from Lisa, she started making real money on adsense when she decided she just could not focus effectively on more than 20 sites and she made a conscious decision then to select randomly just 3 sites to promote and rank well in the search engines. And like they say, the rest was history.

I sort of just borrowed her idea but instead of selecting any 3 sites, I identified 3 of my best sites that fall under the 80:20 rule. 20 percent of my total sites that contributed to 80 percent of my total adsense earnings. Then I started work. I took much effort to build these sites to at least 10 pages per site, with each site targeting a couple of good keywords. Now what makes my method different from Lisa’s is that while she started outsourcing (and spending thousands of money) to promote her new pages and doing much link building to get them highly ranked, I realize I just could not do this, not yet anyway.

Well I settled for the next best thing to do – I still created these 10 pages for the 3 sites with each page highly optimized but the massive link building will just have to wait. My additional web pages included a good combination of very highly competitive keywords with high paying keywords and low competitive keywords with average paying keywords. My main objective of having these additional pages is to give my visitors more information when they arrived at the site and I didn’t focus on ranking highly on the search engine – not yet then. That would be my next phase. Ultimately this approach helped to increase the quantity of clicks on the 3 targeted niche sites because many visitors checked out my new pages too.

The lesson you can take away here is that some of these keywords I had optimized for helped to get better adsense returns because of higher cost per click I had selected from spyfu.com. This works well only because most of my 21 sites are ranking well and there is already traffic coming to these sites. You need enough traffic arriving at your home page to attract these visitors to the 10 additional pages. You can say that as of now, traffic is being channeled to these pages from the search engines but relying much on the keyword phrases of the homepage and not the 10 other pages.

Static HTML site or WP-Blogs Better?

About half of my sites are static html sites using the X-factor theme and I created them using my x-sitepro2 and the rest are created using WordPress blogs. I have to say each type has its own advantage. HTML sites look more professional and you can easily grow them to become authority sites, if you wish. WordPress blogs however are much easier to maintain because of the many free plugins that make them almost run on auto-pilot.

If there is one disadvantage I found in using blogs for my niche sites is that because it runs on auto-pilot, I tend to lose a little focus in terms of the linking work or optimizing new pages for more new keyword phrases. Yes the seeds of complacency sowing.

So who wins- static sites or blogs? Well the 3 most profitable sites are all static html sites so I’m sure you can draw your own conclusion.

One Page site or Many Pages site better?

I have to say when I first started creating micro niche sites, my goal was to create as many of them as possible with just one page, excluding the default privacy policy, about, sitemap, etc of course. Over time I learned that this is not only risky but they cannot fulfill my primary objective of giving more information to the visitors.

Risky - Even if you have the best content with topic relevancy, just how much can you convince Google that your page is not a MFA(made for adsense) and from the grapevine, the big G seems to have untold mandate to ‘track and detroy MFA’ sites. Yeah and don’t forget Google outsources such work to humans, possibly out in India or the Philippines (nothing personal against them) to do this job so ‘mistakes’ can and will happen sometimes. You really don’t want to be at the wrong place at the right time do you?

User Experience - I don’t think any user searching for some specific information will find everything he needs on a one page website. This is because your ads may not be totally relevant (depends on how many advertisers for the keyword phrase too) sometimes due to your own doing – if your article is not keyword-optimized. Secondly if your niche is relatively big, your one page article lacks the information or solution that he is searching for.

Niche Websites-Create 100 sites or 3 sites with 100 pages better?

Well if you read Lisa’s Truth Files, she is one living example of someone who made $10,000 in a month from just 3 high powered, highly ranked websites with 100′s of pages. That certainly quashed my belief for some time that you need to create more websites if you want to make more money in adsense. It’s an eye-opener for me.

My Next Step

I’ve just completed my initial stage where I’ve driven traffic mostly to my homepage for each of my niche sites. My next phase is to focus on the next 5 keyword phrases found in the sub-pages for my top 3 money making websites; get them ranked on Google’s Page 1. When this is achieved it means that traffic to these pages will come from 2 sources, the first from the homepage and the second from search engines due to their page one ranking.

This post marks the 1-year anniversary date of my XFactor Niche Websites Building Project in which started exactly a year ago. I published a post on 15 Sep 2009 sort of officially announced it. If you’ve missed this you can read it at your leisure (Building Micro Niche Mini-Webstes Takes Off This Week). Well the fact that I’m writing this post just means one thing – I’m still just as passionate now as I was one year ago. In fact I just purchased my domain yesterday for my 20th niche site after having found a great exact named keyword domain available. I like to share a bit of my micro niche building journey over the last 12 months with anyone interested in making money online in small niches. Who knows I might add in my 2-cents worth as I reflect on this little journey of mine. You may agree or disagree with some of the thoughts I’m going to share here. But you may find them interesting but unacceptable to you; a little crazy perhaps but thought-provoking; somewhat unconventional wisdom but intriguing and worth exploring it yourself? Maybe. Well here goes:

Where I am after 1 year?

I have built a total of 20 niche sites and I’m still using XFactor’s techniques that I learned although lately I’ve made some changes. I don’t always used the same template designs and colors although that’s more to add some fun to seeing a refreshing new looking template and not what others are saying about not leaving footprints by using the same color template. I really don’t believe using the same template will get you into trouble with Google so long as you provide good information on your websites and earns its trust. The bottom line - don’t make your niche site a MFA site.

Which is better, static websites (like XFactor) or WordPress theme?

I don’t think there is a clear answer to this as I’ve heard many people swear by XFactor’s templates and many others rave about how good WordPress is for niche sites creation. I personally used both methods now. I like the static ones that I used my Xsite-Pro2 to build because they give a more professional look. On the other hand, for my last 5 sites, I have used WordPress and I simply love building my new sites this way. Sort of like meeting up with an old trusted friend all over again.

Which is better? Building many small niche sites or few big sites?

When I first started building small niche sites, the original plan was to build a hundred sites over 2 to 3 years. Well after building about 20 sites in one year, I could still achieve this objective. But really, it’s not a numbers game as hypothetically you could have just 5 sites that earn you more money than 100 sites could. The key is to build sites that provide useful information that people are searching for so that these sites earned the trust of Google. I may well focus on my top earning sites and grow a couple of them up into authority sites to increase my adsense income. That is a very likely option I’m now seriously considering.

In my short journey I witnessed this trust that Google looks for and one that it did place on was a particular niche website that I came across. What puzzled me at first was that this website had only 2 backlinks but could rank on Google’s #2. The keyword is searched 3600 times monthly and has a high ‘Strength of Competition’ of ’61′ when I looked at Micro Niche Finder. So what is the secret? Google’s TRUST! and I later learned this key secret ingredient to niche building from Brian Johnson’s Commission Ritual. Oh BTW, this site now belongs to me because I bought it in Flippa but not before learning this wonderful little secret. It’s also the reason why my last 5 sites were built using WordPress.

AutoBlogging- Is it your friend or your worse enemy?

I have to say autoblogging is so widely used and whether you make it work to your advantage or get yourself into trouble depends entirely on you. One good way that someone makes good use of such automated WP plugins is using it to parse RSS feeds from other blogs to produce new posts in your blog. As owner, you tell the script which RSS feed to extract for importing and it checks for duplicates and create a new post from its RSS feed for you. The correct way to do this is add feeds that owners allow for syndication. You then give due recognition by linking back to the blog but respect and ignore those that specifically don’t allow any of their work “reproduced” anywhere. Unfortunately many people have conveniently used such free information quite blatantly using scrappers and have probably given the word “auto-blogging” a bad name, besides incurring the wrath of Google.

This is just one aspect of the auto blogging feature in some WordPress plugins and I do have one blog that uses a plugin to import Amazon products to add value to my niche product sites. For this blog of mine, I combine auto-blogging with unique content to give good user experience.

Buying Niche Sites

Another good way to grow your arsenal of good earning niche sites is to buy as many as you can afford them. However you have to do lots of checking before determining which sites are going to consistently make money online for you. I’ve purchased 2 such niche sites from Flippa and I do recommend anyone who has some spare cash to consider this marketplace too. Believe me some of the sites put on sale are really worth buying. Even if you don’t buy, you can learn a lot from just spying on how these pro bloggers make their awesome blogs. These are the people who make money blogging as a second nature. It’s from this place that I learned about Brian Johnson’s Commission Ritual too.

My Next Phase

It’s going to be more focused as I know pretty much what I have to do to increase my adsense income while doing clean, white hat techniques. Almost all of my sites are on Page 1 so the focus is on working towards increasing the CTR and getting more traffic and increase contents for all my top earning sites. I will also choose at least one good niche site to grow into an authority site besides growing my virtual real estate of small niche sites.

I have to say my last 12 months home business journey has been fulfilling as I gained much experience from learning from many work at home experts. It looks like niche marketing is going to be my main focus for a long time because it seems both interesting and a profitable.

Here’s one quick and easy Google Keyword Research Tip for you if you are looking for profitable keywords.

This month marks my first anniversary date of my XFactor micro niche adsense project so I thought I’ll write a few short posts over the next one month on this topic. I like to think that anyone who is either making money blogging or other Internet Marketing ventures do keyword research quite a bit. It’s just a question of time before you want to buy a new domain to create another blog or website.

When I was starting out on keyword research a long time ago, I was often left frustrated after much time and effort was spent on searching for the keywords. Why? Well because 95 percent of these times, while going to Godaddy to try to buy my domain with these exact keyword phrase, all had been taken by some other people.

The lesson I learned then was that in keyword research, knowing which domains are available for purchase first is very important. Otherwise you will find yourself being unnecessarily unproductive having to repeat your keyword research all over again.

So how do you find out if the keyword phrases you have found have domains that are available? Well thankfully my Micro Niche Finder tells me just that for any keyword that I type in the tool. It lists available for .com, .org and .net which is essentially what I need anyway. But what if you do not have Micro Niche Finder?

The Solution

1. Go to Adwords Keyword Tool

2. Type in your Keyword Phrase that you have in mind

3. Select the keywords result the tool gives you. You can chose the best ones with good CPC

4. Download and export to excel spreadsheet.

5. Your spreadsheet will contain a list of these keyword phrases. As an example if I type my keyword phase as “make money blogging” I would receive a long list of different suggested keyword phrases like:

<col width="190"></col>

Keyword

making money on blog

making money on blogs

blogging to make money

make money on blogging

simple ways to make money

make money in blogging

ideas for making money

easiest ways to make money

making money with blogs

6. Go to Godaddy or whichever domain registrar you usually go to:

- Go to Domain Bulk Registration and key in your list of keywords.

- it should look like this:

7. Hitting the ‘Search’ button will now tell you which domains are available for your purchase.

8. You can now proceed to do your keyword Research.
