On page search engine optimization factors like text headers, keyword density, text bolding are things you should do, but they are not as important as the off page factors. It will greatly benefit your business if you focus more on off page search engine optimization factors so that you will get your website to the top of the search engines. Here is why you should do so.

Off page search engine optimization places a great deal of importance to which other websites are linking to your website and how they’re doing it. These include:

The age of the website linking to you
The “theme” of the website your link is on
The page rank of the page your link is on
The title of the page your link is on
Links from Quality Websites
The age of the website linking to you

Good link building is an important aspect of off page optimization and you should know that it’s better having fewer quality links than a lot of unreliable and unrelated theme ones. Quality links here refer to trusted, aged websites, which have a high page rank. Google and other search engines also give much more weight to websites with .edu or .gov extensions. So if you can get one of these websites to link to your website, it will greatly help improve your ranking. This is the text being used to link to your site and you should try to get other marketers to link to you using anchor text which forms most of your main keywords. It is for this reason that in reciprocal link exchange you dictate what text should be used before approving the link exchange. Unfortunately circumstances may not always allow you the luxury of this influence. You would probably have better control over the anchor text when you write comments on other people’s blog. So do make blog commenting a daily routine work to gain this advantage over others in search ranking.

Page Rank

I have heard many people say that page ranks are not important as long as everything else remains good like your volume of sales and the money that your business brings in. However, page rank is still being used by many to rate your credibility with your customers and website visitors. It also determines how frequently Google and other search engines visit your website.
