Passive Income Tips And Tricks

Passive Income Ideas

The following is a guest post by Kate Croston. If you would like to write for this blog, please checkout the guidelines here.

Who doesn’t want to generate passive income? You get paid to do virtually nothing, which has to be one of the most appealing ways to earn money because it allows you to accomplish other things and still generate extra spending money or even an extra income if you’re lucky. Passive income can come across as sounding kind of like a scam, but in true testament people are earning money this way every day, so why aren’t you? Here are five tips and tricks for earning passive income:

Add advertising to your blog

passive income ideasAdding advertising to your blog is one of the easiest ways to generate revenue from your blog and you don’t have to do anything once the ads are up – you let them do the work. There are several different networks out there that you can sign up for, all you have to do is put in the time to research with ad network will fit your blog niche the best. One of the easiest and most popular programs is Google AdSense. The key to making advertising on your blog work is to increase your traffic – substantial traffic translates into substantial clicks, which translates into substantial earnings.

Write an E-Book

The great thing about e-books is that you only have to write it once, but you can sell it for forever. Find something that you can be an expert about and then take some time to write an informative and helpful e-book that you can market to your blog readers for a fee. You can then let the residual income from the book continue to roll in long after the one-time task of writing it is complete, something that makes that initial time investment completely worth it!

Get involved in an Affiliate Program

By becoming an affiliate for a certain product or store you will allow them to advertise on your website and you will make a certain percentage off of the products they sell from people clicking through your site to theirs. It’s a type of commission based pay where you don’t have to do anything except let their products promote themselves on your website. Make sure that whatever you are endorsing is relevant to your blog niche; otherwise it will seem out of place and probably won’t appeal to your target audience as much.

Utilize Google AdWords

These types of pay-per-click campaigns can be especially beneficial if it’s a product that isn’t being heavily promoted by competitors. One neat aspect of Google AdWords is that you can set it up to promote your product or you can set it up to promote your affiliates product… or both! Setting it up for multiple campaigns is a great way to earn even more money.

It’s not that hard

Earning Passive Income is not a difficult task, just one that can be somewhat time-consuming when you’re first getting started. This is one of the main reasons why so many people fail at it – they don’t want to put in the time and effort. Like any successful venture though, you have to be willing to do some work to see the results, and once the work is done the end result will be letting money roll in with little to no work on your part. Having a passive income will allow you to pursue your other passions or even just make some extra money while you’re working your full-time job – and who can complain about that! So what are you waiting for? There’s no time like the present and no reason not to give it a try.

  1. While you offered some great ways to make passive income, one must first realize that not all blogs will generate income. It take a lot of time and effort just to get your blog “out there”. And, it takes quite a while before the money really starts to roll in.

All that being said, passive income is very desirable and offers a great feeling of accomplishment. Once your blog is gaining popularity in the search engines (read all the posts in this blog to learn how to do that) then follow the tips mentioned for earning income. My personal favorite: AdSense.

  2. Having a passive income is the life to live. But I think that more often than not, we need experience from “active income” first to pursue a passive income. We need exposure so we can meet great people who can be inspirations to your passive income.

The ideal of passive income is what believe should in our formal education systems.Because when you understand the benefits of this principle you will be motivate to do more in what ever you are doing and at same time enjoying time and financial freedom.

  4. Humm passive income? I guess if you could put a system together that didn’t need much attention you should go for it. BUT, most people discover that even the passive side of business needs to be monitored by someone. Like..how much time do you have to write more than one e-book? Perhaps the answer too is to find a good virtual assistant to lend a hand.

Those are some good tips, Kate. Writing an e-book is probably one of the oldest but still very effective. It can be a venture that keeps on giving, if the book turns out to be popular and timeless.

Getting involved with affiliate programs is also a great way and something that anybody from a full-time professional to a housewife can participate in.
