This is my very first post on Link Love-Links Round Up which is a round up of weekly links which I’ve found to be useful work at home ideas. It’s a small way to share some link love with my readers and subscribers and bringing some useful and interesting ideas to them. I welcome anyone who reads this post to share any good posts which you have recently read and have benefited from or nominate your own post if you consider it good here. Just post your comment here giving some details.

Yan runs a pretty unique looking blog called Thou Shall Blog and has seen its traffic grown exponentially. Well that goes without saving at the rate this man keeps coming up with fresh new ideas. 10 Simple Tips to Fast Loading Website and Home Business Blog

When was the last time you ran a check on how fast your work at home business website loads? Perhaps one month ago? 3 months ago, or the day you had your website created? Don’t you think you owe it to your readers and your subscribers whom you have openly said you’re providing good quality content while quietly saying to yourself how you wish you had more repeat visitors coming to your blog?

You might have one of the greatest looking websites in your niche but very few people are going to see it if it takes such a long time to load

I do not like to visit slow loading websites because the waiting time kills me and time is valuable. But if I have such thoughts, don’t you think my visitors coming to my site think the same way too.

The speed of your website or work from home business blog is the responsibility of the webmaster and you just have to set aside some of that valuable time to make this a periodic tune up. If you are just about to design your new work at home business website, do remember to check out how long it will take to load.

1. Minimize the use of images - The best way to get a fast loading web site is to minimize the use of images. It may be impossible to totally have a site without images and that’s not what I am recommending too. Perhaps set yourself 20% of your website having images. Remember all the popular sites like Google do not have many images. That’s because they place more importance to its load time as well as readers’ on-site experience.

2. Minimize the bytes of your html write-up by deleting all unnecessary characters, and blank spaces for fast loading pages.

3. Minimize the bytes of your website images with an Image Optimizer. This tool allows you to easily optimize your GIFs, animated gifs, JPGs, and PNGs, so they load as fast as possible on your website. I’ve also found out that you can easily convert from one image type to another up to an upload size limit of 300kB. Just to give you an idea what this means, I recently converted the image I had used on Work At Home Internet Business-7 In-Dept Link Building Tips . The picture size reduced from 105.61 KB to 13.09 KB, an unbelievable 87% reduction in bytes.

4. Use a HTML Validator to check out all errors found as such errors will increase your site loading time.

5. Reduce the number of animated GIFs as they take a very long time to load your pages. If it’s really necessary, choose smaller animated gifs.

6. Keep Your Code Clean - If you do use a WYSIWYG editor, most of the time you will receive redundant code added to your pages for example, these empty tags . Removing these excess tags will speed up your load time.

7. Keep your icons simple and small - Try not to use big images on your website. Instead use simple and small icons that add just a little color to attract your visitor’s attention.

8. Remove Anything You Don’t Need – Take a closer look at some of the things that you have put on your work at home business site and you will be amazed at the number of things you could remove, if not needed. This may be in the form of images, embedded sound files, widgets or animated GIFs.

9. Avoid Long Pages – Besides taking a longer time to load, long pages are not well received by your visitors. It’s a better idea to split these long pages into shorter pages which improves the page load up time.

10. Check your load time periodically – Make it a practice to check your website load time. It should be in your mental checklist to ensure a fast and error free site. Here is a website analyzer that you can use to quickly check it for your website.

Discover Magic of Entrecard U Drop I Link| New Work At Home Ideas

Have you seen a new widget on a lot of Work at Home Business blogs lately? A widget that the owners spend precious time to design and put a smashing title on and finally placing it in strategic places in their blogs? It may also come in a few sizes but the colors and pictures may differ due to owners’ fancy or creativity. But the one thing that does not change though - every one of these widgets has the unmistakably “E”. Yes, you probably guessed it – Entrecard.

Entrecard is essentially a social networking system but some of the work at home ideas being thought of in site promotion seem pleasantly unique and offer a refreshing change to bloggers.

What is Entrecard
In a nutshell:

· Entrecard is a blogging network as well as a social networking system.
· You can drop your card whenever you visit other bloggers who are members too
· Other bloggers who visit you drop their cards on your Entrecard widget
· Entrecard uses a currency called EC – Entrecard Credits
· You can use EC to buy adverts on other sites.
· Entrecard has forums that you can participate in.

Entrecard: How To Grow Your Blog
The term used in this blogging community is “drop your card” which essentially means login into Entercard and simply click the “Drop” at the blogger’s Entrecard widget. After doing so you get a polite “Thanks” so you know you’ve done it successfully. It really can’t get any easier than this don’t you think.

Drop 30-50 cards a day perhaps just to get to know how it works or who is in this blogging network. You can be sure that when you do this, a fair number of bloggers will return the favor by visiting your site or blog.

While Entrecard has made card dropping so easy, I really don’t suggest you visiting 50 sites daily just to get yourself rewarded with EC credits. Do remember that it is a social network first so you should get sociable and take some time to pick out some good sites that you may envisage working with in your work at home business. Then leave a comment as you normally would when you are networking with other bloggers or potential business partners.

Entrecard: Advertising
As an Entrecard member, you can apply to advertise on any of the blogs in the network. There are currently more than 10,000 blogs listed in the network. After you have purchased an advertisement on your chosen site, your ad will be active for a good 24 hours.

You must have enough EC credits to cover the cost of your intended ads. The price of the ads will be shown below the members’ Entrecard image on their profile. Just click the “Advertise” button found under this given price when you’ve decided to advertise on this site. You will also see a ‘wait time’ depending on how many ads there are in the queue.

Entrecard: Exchange EntreCard Credits for Money
Yes I’m really sober and you read it right all right. You can make money online here. Your EntreCard credits can be used to exchange for real money. Unlike in the past when you may have to go to eBay and sell them, you don’t have to anymore. You can sell it back to EntreCard for real cash, Of course its not going to make you very rich selling your credits, but where else could you find a Social Network giving you money in exchange for credits they gave you so easily.

On a more serious note the reason why EnterCard allows such cash exchanges is because ECs can also be purchased by members using cash and this helps to provide the overall EntreCard Credits to Cash in a balanced position. The currency exchange rate is 7.50 US Dollars for every 1000 ECs. Kudos to EntreCard for such a brilliant idea.

EntreCard: New Work at Home Ideas
EntreCard implemented its newest idea giving all members more EntreCard Credits. Since June 2, for every new blog post you published, you earn 25 ECs. This credit compensation is given to you automatically as the Entrecard system picks up your new posts from your RSS feed submitted during your registration. I really like EntreCard for some of these little things that they do, creating the buzz and excitement and another great work at home idea.

EntreCard: U Drop I Link
This widget is used exclusively by Entrecard members and I just had it installed on my blog so go ahead to take a look at it. It is not owned by EntreCard but developed by a third party and created for the main purpose of rewarding Entrecard members who visit other members’ blog.

Essentially what this widget does is that when you drop your card, it retrieves and displays the content of your Entrecard Inbox and shows the last 50 blogs which have dropped a card on it at any date. But what good does this benefit you? Well just by dropping your card, on my blog for example, your Entrecard ID is added to my Entrecard Inbox and your blog url, name and description are displayed on the widget for other bloggers to see. You get to stay on my widget until the 51st visitor drops his card on my blog. So essentially the 2 most obvious benefits are a linkback to your blog and getting some traffic coming from my blog. So feel free to drop your card on this blog at the “Drop” sign of my Entrecard widget to enjoy these benefits now. Do it fast before these spots get taken up (less than 40 now).

There can never be a substitution for writing original and a stellar posts. Add Pictures to Your Post
If you’ve been a regular visitor or a subscriber to my blog, you may have noticed that I started adding pictures just before the start of my Link Building Strategy Series Posts. That’s when I found out having a picture in your blog post really brings out the message you wish to focus on and share with your readers. So searching for a somewhat relevant picture does help your cause even more. If you are unable to locate a relevant one, well just create one with your own text. The downside of adding pictures is that it takes up too much of your time. Well that’s where I can help to alleviate some of this hardship. Blog Translation - How Important is it?
Sometime ago I read an article about an interview given by Matt Cutts from Google mentioning that it is important to create a useful resource or service to attract visitors. It’s quite an interesting thought provoking statement and it does seem very true. But I was wondering how successful a blogger would be after he has created this useful resource. I mean the home business internet marketing world is pretty big and the thing that strikes me is that there could be a whole lot of people who, due to language barriers may not understand you, despite how good your resource or service is.

Home Internet Business-7-In-Dept Link Building Tips-Part 5

Welcome back! This is Part 5 of my Legitimate Home Internet Business -Link Building Strategy Post Series. I hope that you’ve found my last 4 posts to be helpful and were able to pick up some tips for your own work at home business. With that said, let’s dive in….

Create two site maps - one for Search Engines (Google Sitemaps) in xml format and the other one for your visitors

1. Install CommentLuv Plugin
CommentLuv is a Wordpress plugin that grabs the last post by commentors and appends it to their comment, thus giving them a backlink to their site. Clearly this means that you are getting an additional back link for every blog comment you now make. Incidentally the plugin owner just announced you can soon define a default post for your site url so it shows that instead of your latest post when you comment on a CommentLuv site or see a list of the last 10 blogs you commented. Time taken to install it on your wordpress blog: 5 minutes.

Let’s stop for a second and think what this means for you. When you offer CommentLuv on your blog, you are actually answering the “What’s in it for me to comment on your blog?” question many readers like to ask. Personally it works for me too and it’s a great way to get direct deep linkbacks to your site. I have a daily mental to-do checklist, which includes 10 blogs to comment. Now hypothetically, if I’m on my 10th comment, who do you think I will post it to, one with CommentLuv or another without?

Another great comment-related plugin you can check out which I’m using is: Top Commentators Widget. Find out why at one time, I was like a frantic blogger trying to get to number one “Top Commentators” of my favorite blogs. At that time, I had an intuition that it was good for search engine ranking. But just last week I read from Yan’s ThouShallBlog that it’s not a hunch. It’s true!

2. Ask me to do a link exchange. Better still link to me first and then ask me to link back. Here is a link exchange sample script that you can use:

Do not underestimate the effectiveness of such manual link exchanges. Many people just shun at link exchanges. I used to feel this way too. But ever since I started having a link building strategy in place I do see its value in a much bigger picture and how it can help me achieve the desired result I want for my legitimate home internet business. If you’ve seen an SEO Checklist used by experienced webmasters, you will know just what I mean. Another aspect of what this can do for you is that it helps you build a rapport with many new bloggers, with increased online home business opportunities and possible joint ventures. If you are now convinced that you really need a proven link building strategy, such link exchanges should be a part of what you do everyday just like blog commenting. It’s a good idea to create a simple SEO Link Building checklist to follow.

3. Write posts using keywords in the title. Whenever you write a new post, your objective in link building perspective is really to garner more linkbacks to your post. If and when people do linkback to you, it is likely that they will use the title to make the link. Choosing keywords in your title makes lots of sense and you can be sure that you will get more backlinks if you spend a little more time on it using this technique. Your title that you’ve chosen should ideally be compelling, thought provoking, or makes people incredibly curious as to the content of your post. Sometimes I think it’s a little phycological. No one wants to ignore and not knowing what they’ve missed. If you’ve got a title like ” How To Earn a Six Figure Income from Blogging in Two Easy Steps“, don’t you think people will be extremely curious to find out for themselves and feel like clicking the link. Well it looks like you too can’t wait to find this out for yourself. So go right ahead…. enjoy reading it and find out the answer to: “How to Earn a Six Figure Income from Blogging in Two Easy Steps“.

In a 1000-word article with a 10-word title, the 10 words in the title are probably more important than the next 1000.

4. Acquire 5 Quality Backlinks a week for each site that you maintain focusing first on sites that are doing well in search engines. This brings in more online traffic than trying to quick start a new site and experienced webmasters who do website tracking (Google Analytics) have said so too. As search engines update their rankings on average every 10 days (more for Google and less for Yahoo, MSN), obtaining five quality backlinks a week for one site is therefore good enough.

5. Create new, cheap domains and web hosting by purchasing and owning them. Search for free hosting pages, free websites and maintain them at established sites including blogs, groups, forums and subdomains. Although most free sites have slightly lower quality because its index pages are not pointing to your homepage, experienced webmasters are happy with them usually owning more than 10 of them. They know that as the sites grow older, they gain better search engine quality. These sites can also be used for your 3 way link exchanges that you do with other bloggers so that they can improve on their page rankings.

6. Why a Website Ranks High:
This is a list of contributing factors to your legitimate home internet business website getting a high search engine ranking. This list is found in an SEO Specialist website:

30% because of old Backlinks
25% because of new Backlinks
15% because of regular updates
10% because it offers a useful service or resource
5% because of good title and meta tags description
5% because of keywords in content on page
3% because of minimizing, removing outbound links not working
3% because of HTML write-up validating
2% because of minimizing HTML bytes
1.5% because of other SEO
0.5% because of good keyword meta tag

7. At least half of all your newly acquired backlinks must point to your inside pages(non-home). Also, as mentioned in my other Link Building Strategy posts, do remember that any inside pages linking to your other inside pages at the same site do count as backlinks too. It is therefore very important that your pages contain links to your other inside pages as well.
Secret Tip: Place a link to a few of your inside pages from your legitimate home internet business page and from half your inside pages within the top 17 to 300 words in the main body. This should increase your pagerank on the next PR update.

Internet Home Business-Link Building Strategy-DIY SEO Work Schedule-Part 4

Top keyword rankings at Search Engines for your legitimate home internet business is an easy goal of the experienced SEO expert. But could the average marketer like you and me reach this goal too?

Update Your Site Regularly
There could be some people who may still not know how important it is to update your content on your Home Page. According to an SEO Specialist I have consulted with, this should be done at least every 17 days. Updating your description meta tag to reflect your page content is required and it is also recommended to have your title meta tag updated every 6 to 17 months.

Why 17 Days? The average engine update is 10 days and doing most SEO things every other update with 50+ sites shows to be just as effective as doing them every update with 20 to 30 sites because of the quality owned crosslink. I came up with 17 by doubling 10 days and subtracting 3 to make sure my high engine hitters are at their best for the probable second engine crawl.

Beware of Keyword Stuffing
Once you have determined all your relevant keywords to be used for your legitimate home internet business site, you have to remember to periodically check that you do not fall guilty of keyword stuffing. Here is a keyword density analyzer that can help you quickly achieve this and keep your website search engine friendly. There is a good possibility that keyword stuffing may be made a search engine algorithm penalty according to Matt Cutts from Google.

Site Evaluation
It pays to evaluate your site to determine what you are doing wrong and at the same time get your website high up in natural search results. Here is one excellent tool I have used to do this called Website Grader. Besides the on-page site evaluation, it also provides you with useful information like your inbound links, Google backlinks, Google’s last crawl date, and even information on your selected competitors.

Maintain a Fast Loading Site
Do you prefer a beautiful website which loads incredibly slow or an average looking website which is super fast? Well the answer is obvious as most people completely ignore slow loading sites. It is also one of the top blogging tips on how to get repeat visitors to your blog or website. Here are a few things you can do to achieve this:

Minimize the bytes of your html write-up by deleting unwanted characters keeping them to a minimum for fast loading pages. I’ve come across this tool called an image cruncher which can do this. Unfortunately doing this will slightly reduce the quality of the viewed image but will reduce it’s byte size for a faster loading page.

Validate your html write-up using an HTML validator. This keeps your site fast off the server.

Remove Canceled Link Exchange Sites . It is so important to conduct such checks for sites who have ended a link exchange with you. The main reason for doing so is to prevent what is called page rank bleeding, which will hurt your search rankings.

Remove links not working for your legitimate home internet business because no one likes to be sent to a page that doesn’t work. Personally I like to do this manually by checking all my outbound links and have all bad links removed immediately.

Add high quality web page to your pages so that these pages can eventually have better page ranks. If you have an older site or page with low PR, this could raise your PR when there is a pagerank update.

A personal experience I can share with you is this. Take a look at my blog post called “Boost your Legitimate Home Business with Hit Tail” I wrote in Feb 2008 which had PR0. Just about 2 weeks ago during my Link Building Strategy project, I started adding some nice pictures just to add some color into this old post. The result of my experiment: this page jumped rank from PR0 to PR3 in a matter of 2 – 3 weeks. How did this happen you might ask? Well with a little bit of work, some intuition and lots of luck I guess. It so happened that my blog post title has a word which matches that of this picture url, ranked PR4 and the word “Long Tail” in its title can be found all over my blog post. As we know that Google does not recognize images so this proves the point I am raising on the subject.

Well as promised in my recent post Legitimate Home Internet Business: Review of My Blog Get Free Linkback, it really feels good to be writing this review and giving my linkbacks to people who have responded. This is my review of the third batch of bloggers who have participated and provided me with the required information. The people who have already received the linkbacks have given favorable feedback to me after seeing for themselves the benefits of this fun-filled review my blog/link exchange with a twist.

6. Home Based Internet Business Opportunity
Alan Scholtz’s How 2B Debt Free Blog is full of excellent contents and I recommend you to visit it. What really caught my attention first was that he places selected links at strategic locations so that his readers could navigate to next. I could also see that he recently started using pictures on his blog posts. To me these are all excellent changes Alan is focusing on and gearing towards a more customer or reader orientated phase. Very seldom do we think like a reader looking for an interesting blog besides the good content we write post after post. It’s a tried and tested way to get repeat visitors to your blog. It’s also a natural progression from the initial phase of ‘content is king’ and SEO driven tasks. But while these activities remain important for your Legitimate Home Internet Business and should be ongoing, it’s time to explore other new ideas like blog monetization, linkbait, contests etc.These are good opportunities not to be missed while it offers a refreshing change for your readers, forum buddies, business partners and just about anyone looking to make money online.

This blog is presently not ranked in Technorati so it may be wise to start working towards getting ranked and start being sociable in this area. Tagging your posts using Technorati tags is a great way of getting not just more traffic but getting your pages indexed faster and obtaining more back links. 7. Home Based Business Opportunities
I have a vested interest in some of my business partners as they in a small way, help me in my business and provide me at times new avenues for opportunities and other joint ventures. Lily Boynton’s Home Based Business Opportunities blog is no different and I’ve been reading her blog frequently to obtain such updates. Lily’s blog seems to be growing in leaps and bounds but I’m sure she is not complaining. There’s plenty of good stuff she has featured in her blog and she has cultivated a personal and friendly communication with her readers. I’m quite amazed at how frequent this blog gets updated. This together with the fact that she uses a web 2.0 website could be the reasons why this blog has done well with such a favorable alexa and Tehnorati ratings.

One of the first things that impressed me was that this blog focuses only on a few broad categories of home based business opportunities, internet based affiliate marketing, online business opportunites, work at home business opportunity. According to the gurus, this is a good blog structure although we don’t often see much of this these days. But that’s just because when bloggers knew of this strategy, it’s a little too late to make changes. Well check up her blog to see for yourself and you’ll probably learn a few tricks for your online business and your blog. Thanks for making time to review of my blog Lily.
