Best Way to Keep Your Blog Crawl by Google

Most of the times it takes mostly a week or more than months for Google; the leading search engine to crawl through your website. In this article, I’m listing down the five best ways via which you will be able to keep your blog crawled by Google and get it indexed within a short period of time.

Submit Your Website To Social Bookmarking Portals From Different Accounts

You need to follow this trick wisely. You should be submitting your website to different social bookmarking portals that actually can provide you with high crawling rate. The primary reason behind this is that Google simply loves social bookmarking portals as these websites are constantly updated with original and fresh content. Therefore, the crawling rate for all such portals is very much high. As soon as Google is going to find your site’s URL in any of these social bookmarking sites, it is going to index your portal as well.

You can submit your website to Mixx, Propeller, Digg, Delicious, Stumbleupon and many others. You can also email the link to your friends and request them to do the same from their own accounts. You need to make sure that you are not being a spammer. Once you get started with this approach, you will be able to get your website indexed within a couple of minutes and sometimes it can be within hours.

Linking Back To Pages Already Indexed

If you have recently added a new page to your old website and now you want it to be indexed, you need to pick up the most regularly indexed pages along with the most popular ones from your website and then add your page’s URL to the one that has already been indexed. You need to make sure that the content of the old website page which has been already indexed is very much similar to the content of the page you have recently added. This is because, when you will be adding the URL in the content, it should appear natural to not only the readers but also to the search engines.

Submitting Articles

Once you have worked through the first two mentioned approaches, and still your site is not indexed, you should get started with content writing related to your niche and get a link back to your website, and submit them to different high ranked article directories. You can get started with Ezine and you will be able to drive traffic to your site within minutes after your content has been approved. As you keep acquiring traffic, Google will locate your articles, crawls them, picks your site and indexes it right away.

Blog Pinging

If you have a blog, you need to submit it to the blog pinging portals. This is because such pinging portals update the search engines as soon as you have updated your blog. You will be able to find a large number of blog pinging portals. Pingomatic happens to be one of the most leading blog pinging portals. You need to make sure that you are updating your blog on a regular basis, and most importantly with superior quality content. It will make Google visit your site, and going to index it immediately.

Using WordPress

If you are using WordPress as your blogging platform, you need to make sure that you have linked it with your website. It only takes couple of minutes for a WordPress blog to get indexed. This is for the reason that WordPress is going to submit your blog to the leading search engines.

You need to make sure that you are updating your blog on a continuously basis with good and fresh content in order to make it user friendly and SEO friendly.

Thanks for the advice. I still struggle to get indexed in less than a month or two months usually and I’ve tried a few different things already in the past. Looking forward to trying out the social bookmarking portals as I’ve never really tried that before.

Good advice. I do various things including some on your list and I don’t do too badly with getting indexed fairly quickly. Just one question – does submitting articles still work? I thought the google Panda update last year lessened the effectiveness of this so I’m not big on it. If it is still good then I may introduce it.

  6. Nice post. I study something more difficult on totally different blogs everyday. It can always be stimulating to read content from other writers and practice a bit of something from their store. Thanks for sharing.
