Affiliate Programs

As there are a whole lot of affiliate products in the online market you really will need to choose the appropriate ones that suit your program or the strategies that you currently focus on.

Before I dwell into how you can find good affiliate products for your home business, it may be important to understand what the attributes of a good affiliate product really are. A good product is one that sells phenomenally well and isn’t likely to stop anytime. The process of finding good affiliate products may seem a challenge for you, and you do want quality products with a low refund rate so that your work at home business remains profitable. On the same breath do not forget that the potential buyer never sees the product until he buys it, so quality, though important isn’t really the entire picture.

Resale Rights

Essentially there are two types.

Basic Resale Right: This gives you the right to resell the product. When one of your customers buys this product, he owns the product for his personal use.

Master Resale Right:This gives you the right to resell the product as well as to sell the resale rights for the product. When one of your customers buys it, he owns this product and at the same time he can also sell the right to resell the product to his own customers.

Owning resale rights to a product can give you an advantage over others and it may present you with a good strategy when you offer it in addition to another product that you are promoting. An example would be to give away a free e-book or sell at a discounted price, when customers purchase your main product.

Promote Other People’s Affiliate Products

One good rule to follow is don’t try to create your own products unless you know what you are doing. The rational behind this is that it takes a long time to create new products and even for seasoned marketers, you would be starting without a track record. It is a bad approach to try to manufacture demand for something people don’t really want. The truth is it is harder to generate demand than to satisfy demand.

Identify The Right Affiliate Company

My recommendation is to sell or promote affiliate products. A good approach would be to visit each affiliate network before you make a decision. It may be easier to just focus on one affiliate network and few products so that you don’t get too overwhelmed in the beginning.

There are several options for locating what affiliate products to sell. One of the best places to look for affiliate products is a site called Clickbank, which offers thousands of digital products. I highly recommend it as one of your options to make online profits and their commission rates on average run anywhere from 10% -75% per each sale made.

Research Your Niche

You will also need to spend some effort and time to do a little research to determine your niche to target the type of affiliate products people are searching for in search engines. Your objective in doing so here is to find something lots of people search for, but doesn’t have too much competition and you’ve found yourself a good target market for your Work From Home Programs in the Internet Marketing business.

  • I completely agree with everyone's postings. I made the mistake of creating and marketing my own product before I even check to see if there was a market.

I was just so passionate about the topic that I wrote the ebook 360 pages, edited it down to 108 pages, learned how to make a webpage, how to get it online, etc and I learned the rest as time went on.

If I had taken the time to master being an affiliate first I would have shortened my learning curve considerably, I would have been more assertive in my marketing instead of drowning myself in marketing ebooks and websites and my confidence would have been through the roof which would have allowed me to test the waters with other products to bring in some money while I was waiting for my product to take off.

Great post and yes you should bring it back or post it over again so that people can benefit from it.

  • It's too bad not that many people saw this post; I'm thinking you need to refresh this post in some fashion because it was well written. Of course, one of the problems all of us still has is picking the correct affiliate program, as there are so many out here. And some look way better than they turn out to be, unfortunately. Still, at least there are lots of options.
